The worst

No matches. $/148 wasted

Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience.

I would honestly warn people to be very careful before subscribing to eHarmony. I found the cancellation process extremely difficult and felt like I was being pushed into continuing a subscription I no longer wanted. Despite trying to cancel, I was still concerned about being charged again.

The whole experience has made me feel like the company cares more about taking your money than making cancellation straightforward and transparent. For a service that involves people trusting you with their money, this is unacceptable.

My advice: read the subscription and renewal terms very carefully before paying. I personally would not recommend eHarmony based on my experience with trying to cancel.

Scammers

I would not recommend using this app. In my experience, it was very misleading. It says you can join for free, but once you sign up, there may be charges that are not made clear upfront. It can not get a refund, and the subscription may renew automatically, resulting in additional charges.

I strongly recommend reading all the subscription terms, cancellation policy, and automatic renewal conditions carefully before signing up.

Poor Customer Service and No Goodwill

My experience with eHarmony was disappointing—not because the service wasn’t a good fit for me, but because of how the company handled a very reasonable customer-service request.

I joined on July 19 and quickly realized that the platform wasn’t compatible with the way I approach dating. I contacted customer service to cancel and asked whether they would consider a partial refund given that I had used the service for less than a month. I explicitly acknowledged that my request was outside their stated cancellation policy. I was asking for a small gesture of goodwill—not disputing their terms.

Instead, I received multiple responses simply repeating a policy I already understood, followed by a patronizing offer to “spend time going over” concerns I had never raised and help I had never requested.

Even a $50 refund would have been a small gesture of good faith and could have left me with a positive impression of the company. Instead, eHarmony chose to rigidly hide behind its policy and then offered unsolicited “help” rather than actually addressing the request being made.

The result? They didn’t just lose a customer. They lost any goodwill that might have led me to recommend the company or consider it again in the future.

A company has every right to enforce its policies. But customer service is also about judgment, discretion, and knowing when a small gesture is worth more than rigidly enforcing the letter of a policy. eHarmony missed that opportunity completely.

Waste of money

Stick with the free stuff. Their “matching” is awful. Nothing spectacular or hopeful, matches were divorced 2 weeks, no personality. Conned into 3 months for matches which are mostly 150 or more miles away, then they resend the same ones you rejected for “second chance.” Tried to get my money back on day one and they refused. Now have a email saying one of the matches on my profile had to be removed for security reasons. They still refused to stop charging my account. I went on Hinge and have gotten over 30-50 local better quality matches a day and have multiple fates set up, and it was free. Eharmony keeps charging $65 a month for unavailable, extremely limited matches, aka, zero.

Ralphus says Mostly Good

I find it disappointing to receive lots of lovely ladies’ profiles who live much too far from me. I have stipulated less than 30miles away and have recently received profiles of ladies living more than 250miles away. If only eharmony would take note of the request, I would give them top marks.

Garbage app

They won’t even show you one picture of who you’re trying to match with. Don’t bother.

terrible app

You have to choose immediately if you want to contact the match or not. If you want to view other profiles you cannot until you decide on the first profile. At some point you will go through all your suggested profiles and you will have to wait a few days to get a new profile delivered to you. horrible, not worth the expensive cost.

Is it more money?

Why can’t I see the people that I have contacted

ABSOLUTE SCAM!

Not only can you not see other people’s profiles without paying a monthly or yearly subscription, they will not approve any photos you upload and won’t let you close your account to remove data. Absolute Scam!! Worst dating app I have ever experienced!
Update: I emailed customer support to delete my account since they wouldn’t let me. The response was: they are unable to delete my account!

Can’t type replies

This app crashes about half the time when I try to type a reply to a message on my iPad. Then I have to start over and hope that it Wii work this time.

Poor and very sly

“ Matches” do not match with myself at all, for all the effort you have to go through to set your account up, one would expect significantly better matches. Also, i could not search the data base of users, only what eharmony wanted me to look at

But the worst part is how difficult they make it to cancel a subscription. Very quick and easy methods to take your money, but to cancel, if not purchased through apple requires written request to cancel and only gia email or sending a letter. They also try to lock you in for 12 months, even though you only sign up for month to month

Very sly

Not worth it

I paid for a full year of eHarmony, and unfortunately, it was one of the worst subscriptions I’ve ever purchased.
From the beginning, I found both the website and the app confusing and not very user-friendly. There isn’t enough explanation about how everything works, and getting help or finding good customer service is difficult. I often found myself frustrated just trying to figure out how to use the service effectively.
What disappointed me most was how inactive and repetitive it felt. For months, I seemed to see the same profiles over and over again. I wish there were a better way to organize or set aside profiles you’ve already looked at so you can focus on new ones.
I took the time to complete my profile and genuinely tried to use the service, but after paying for an entire year, I didn’t get anything meaningful out of it—not even a conversation that went anywhere. The whole experience felt strangely empty.
Another thing I really disliked was the subscription policy. When you sign up, you agree to a long-term subscription with only a very short period to change your mind. After that, you’re basically committed to paying for the subscription even if you quickly realize the service isn’t what you expected. It left me with the impression that the policy is designed to lock customers in before they’ve had enough time to discover whether the service actually works for them.
I understand that no dating service can guarantee that you’ll meet someone, but for the price eHarmony charges, I expected a much better platform, more activity, clearer guidance, better customer support, and a more reasonable way to cancel if the service isn’t right for you.
For me, it was absolutely not worth the money, and I regret purchasing the annual subscription.

Scam!

Be very careful before signing up! They process payment externally rather than through standard app subscription, meaning you cannot manage or cancel it through your Apple account setting!!!!
Their promotional offers are misleading, the %50 off first month locks you into an ongoing payment that your credit card provider cannot block on their end.
There is no app unsubscribe option and you have to submit a support ticket and customer service just responds that they will continue charging you every month avoid the app.
If you are in Canada file a complain with Consumer protection (Ontario) , Competition Bureau Canada and FCAC.

Rip off

I downloaded this app and to get anywhere you have to pay for a subscription and it’s $45 a month for 3 months. I got to the point where I could start matching people and there was 6 people in my area. I tried getting my money back they will not even though I was on the app for 15 mins and requested my account to be deleted. Horrible company.. stick to hinge or bumble.

Important to know

Don't get the one-year package. They don't cancel it, and the app isn't used by that many people. You'll always run out of options.

Garbage app

I gave the 3 day free trial a chance and by day 2 I ran out of potential matches in a city with a population of 1/2 million. The was in a 30 mile range of my zip. All dating apps are horrible.

$600 a year

You can’t engage people. You can’t see who likes you, they literally blur every photo until you pay. You can’t even message AT ALL unless you pay membership. They don’t even let you choose a TOWN OR CITY unless you pay. Do not use this app to meet people unless you have 50+ a month to spare. This app is pernicious and is a complete financial sinkhole. It takes months to find good matches and I’m handsome af. I look like Kobe Bryant. I’m not even joking. This app is a money grab. Don’t use it. It’s a joke.

Don’t waste your money

There are much better ways to meet people. This app has very low quality people and they won’t let you out of your contract. If
I could give it a negative I would

Totally a scam

I was recommended this site because a friend of mine found someone on there so I was excited to join, however, after paying for a 6 month ( smallest amount of time btw) I took the time to fill out the lengthy questionnaire and then started to browse the profiles, well after 1 day, 1 day people, I had seen all the profiles in my area, I did not want to open it up to all of Canada, just my small province of Nova Scotia, and there were no one else, so everyday I’d go on and everyday it would say expand your search settings to see more, so I would have to either open it up to all of Canada or change my age preferences, and as a 53 year old, I didn’t want to date 25 year olds(my son’s age) or 80 year olds. When I reached out to ask to get a refund, they just responded with they will cancel the renewal, which is useless, so now I’m going to be paying nearly $33/ month for NOTHING. I am so upset, so if my review could help someone in not joining this site, then the loss of that money will at least be worth it. Don’t waste your time or money. 😡
