It Will Destroy Your External SSD

I kept getting the “Disk not ejected properly” error every time I woke my Mac Studio with one SanDisk 2TB and one Crucial 2TB external SSDs attached. This app promised to unmount them before the Mac went to sleep and then mount them on wake. Well, it sure as heck unmounted them. But on awakening the Mac, the app threw a “Can not mount drives…” error. And nothing else would mount them either. I had to spend $100 on a recovery app to access my data again. You do you, but I’d avoid this app unless you’re willing to take that chance.

Response from developer

I am so sorry for the inconvenience this caused. This is exactly the case 1.4.5 fixes (the newest version, still in review), and your data was never changed. Unmounting an encrypted drive locks it, and macOS only unlocks it again when the drive is plugged in afresh: unplug it, plug it back in, and it mounts with the password in your keychain. The "mount again after wake" option has been removed entirely; Ejectify now ejects before sleep the same way you would by hand, and never leaves a drive unmounted. If it's still not coming back, write to me at ejectify.sp33c.tech/support and I'll help you personally.
