Just wanted to say thank you to Taryn and Chris for welcoming me so well in their department yesterday .
I had a CT scan yesterday (in French đ) and Taryn was an absolute angel. Professional, full of joy and so kind and attentive.
Even for a simple check an hospital is intimidating and stressful, that is why I am grateful for members of staff like Taryn for going the extra mile to make her patients more at ease for an optimal health care.

Appts
Itâs super inconvenient that I canât cancel appointments online. I had to call in and still when I checked in the receptionist interrogated me about the additional appointments.

Birth at Los Gatos
I do have to give this hospital 5 stars, but the facility needs an update. I should have taken a tour. But didnât have time. The mother baby was under construction and rooms were small. But the staff were amazing!

Patient location data privacy concerns
As soon as I logged into their app today, the new update is forcing me to consent to sharing my location data with them all the time, even if the app is closed or not in use. If I don't consent to sharing my location data, the app will not let me proceed to book appointment or contact my doctor via my app.

Sign in is needlessly cumbersome
The sign in screen should be compatible with password managers. The autofill doesnât work because the app doesnât signal to the password manager what website it is for. And you canât save a password or use biometrics.
Thatâs really cumbersome for an app that is designed to be used by patients while in a hospital.

Face ID doesnât work
Every time I launch the app, I have to type in my username and password, even though I have enabled Face ID. Why???
Annoying to use
Most functions work as expected (I.e. communicate with care team, receive test results). But the biggest barrier to entry/use is that it doesnât stay signed into MyCare, doesnât use biometrics (even though itâs turned on in Settings), and doesnât even remember your username, causing users to have to manually log in⊠which can be multiple times a day.

Now the app wonât allow me to logon at all. It says thereâs no email or address on file. But the El Camino Health âMy Healthâ website works fine. And my email and phone are, in fact, showing as Confirmed on the website.

Billing
My doctor who has been associated to El Camino has been awesome. Billing on the other hand has been completely disastrous. Iâve tried calling many times before and after a surgery. Iâve left messages and I donât seem to get calls back until I write a nasty review or complain to my doctor. Iâm now in collections and donât know exactly what happened. I paid a $2k out of pocket and then after all was said and done, they credited me approximately $1900. I tried calling to ask why the credit and now today Iâve received a collection letter for over $1k while I have another for about $300. I just canât with these people. Answer the phone or call people back.

One of the best Hospital
Itâs been a great experience and people in this hospital and always super nice and helpful to us. We had a couple ER visit for our two year old son and we are blessed that we went to this hospital. Thank you to everyone will help us and help our son to feel normal in a couple days.
Not possible to create an appointment

Also, the in-app feedback doesnât work. First it asks for a rating, then it asks for a comment to explain the rating. As soon as I click in the comment section, the Submit button is removed and itâs no longer possible to submit the feedback. If I change the rating, the button reappears. However, when I click the button, the app says âError. Your feedback could not be submitted.â That error occurs regardless of whether or not I include a comment.

I have to log in every single time I use the app and itâs incredibly frustrating. Please leave me logged in. I have checked all of the boxes and settings to stay logged in.
Cannot use Face-ID nor Passcode
The settings in the app (after you login to your account) allows you to enable Face-ID and set passcode. However, every time I try to login to the app, it didnât have any Face-ID detection nor passcode login. It still asks me to key in my password.
My Review of Surgeon, Nurses, Physical Therapist/Occupational Therapist and Support Staff
On September 5th 2023i went to El camino hospital for surgery for a fractured right leg. I was greeted with kindness and respect. Pre Operative staff was very kind and professional explained each step of my surgery. The anesthesiologist and his assistant was very kind to me. They explained what they were going to do before they wheeled me into the operating room. The surgeon did a good job to repair my featured tibia. Recovery staff very kind. When I was admitted to the hospital for over night observation the Nurses and all nursing staff I commend them for job they did during my stay ( good job keep it up). The physical therapist and occupation therapist kind and professional showed me how to get out of bed using a walker and move around safely l commend them (good job keep it up). My meals was vey good brought to me timely. Finally my room was clean and comfortable , noise level minimum. I was very happy with my surgery and the care and treatment I received.
