About

Elsinore is a fast, native app for Frigate, the open-source NVR you run on your own hardware. Your cameras, footage and alerts stay between your devices and your server. No cloud account, no subscription, no tracking. LOCAL FIRST Elsinore connects straight to your Frigate server, or through your own Marcellus web server (see docs for details): on your home Wi-Fi, or from anywhere. There is no Elsinore cloud in the middle and no account to create. Live video, recordings, events and snapshots come directly from your server, and the app keeps its caches on your device, so the screens you have already seen reopen instantly. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No analytics, no telemetry, no advertising or tracking SDKs. The only third-party code is the open-source WebRTC library that plays live video. • Your password stays in the device’s secure storage. It is never synced, and it is only ever sent to the server you entered. • Notification images are downloaded by your device from your own server. They never pass through anyone else’s. • Notifications are optional. When you turn them on, the short line you see on your lock screen, such as “Person at Front Door”, travels through the system push service and a minimal relay that has no database. FAST Elsinore is a native app, tuned to make every second of footage feel close at hand. • Live view starts over low-latency WebRTC and falls back to HLS on its own when it needs to. • Scrub through hours of recordings on a reel that shows you each moment as you drag. • Play back at ½×, 1×, 1.5× or 2×, smooth at every speed. • Jump between events with Previous and Next, or go straight to any time with the day strip. WHAT YOU CAN DO • See every camera at once in a live grid, or open one full screen • Review alerts and detections, filtered by camera, object and zone • Browse Encounters: who and what came by, with the clip a tap away • Investigate: follow one person or vehicle across every camera on a shared timeline • Tune alerts per object and per place, from a quiet log entry to a live lock-screen alert to a time-sensitive alarm, with guided setup and quiet hours • Keep an eye on things with live lock-screen alerts and widgets • Save clips to your photo library or share them • Find out exactly why a server can’t be reached with the Connection Doctor • Use the native desktop app, with a menu-bar companion. One purchase covers all your devices. WHAT YOU NEED Elsinore requires your own Frigate server. It is a viewer and reviewer for an existing Frigate setup: it does not configure cameras or replace Frigate’s own admin interface. Alerts, live lock-screen alerts, Encounters, Investigate and scrub previews use Marcellus, a free, open-source companion service that runs alongside Frigate on your server. Without it, Elsinore still gives you live view, recordings and the review feed.
