Great app… but
Response from developer
Thank you — genuinely. Hearing that the quality, the customization and the privacy landed the way they were meant to is the best thing we could be told, and we're grateful you took the time to write it. You were right about the volume, and we're sorry it cost you an unpleasant moment. The same report reached us by email as well, and it is already fixed. What was happening: iOS gives no way to listen for the volume buttons directly, so the page-turn feature watched the volume level instead — it parked the level at the midpoint and put that midpoint back after every press. If your volume was low, opening a book pushed it up; with headphones in, that is exactly as unpleasant as it sounds. What we changed: the app no longer sets a level of its own. It remembers the level you chose and returns to it after each press, so your volume stays where you left it. And on iPhone and iPad, turning pages with the volume keys is now off by default — it is an Android habit, and no one should meet it by surprise; the switch is still there under Typography for anyone who wants it. This is version 1.0.4, already submitted and waiting on Apple's review — it should arrive as an update shortly. Until it does, you can stop it immediately: open a book → Typography (Aa) → turn "Volume keys" off. And please keep the wishes coming — every one of them, big or small. This fix exists because you wrote.
