Thank You forOne of My All-time Favorites

This has been one of my very favorite programs for many years. I understand the authors’ need to end their support, but still I am sorry to see it go. I’m very grateful to have had it so long.

A venerable Timepiece App

I’ve had this timepiece app for most of its existence from 2008. It still holds up very well with solid graphics and numerous watch faces and functions. When the first Apple Watch came out in 2015, it no doubt adversely impacted dedicated iPad watch apps but the developer of this app kept until last year. Hopefully it’s not the end of updates for the app but it will likely work for a long time to come.

It’s Complicated

I’ve used the “Chronometer” for iPad and for iPhone for years and visit the various faces everyday. My favorite is the Geneva, because there is just so much information there. I really wish there were a face for the Apple Watch, but I understand that Apple has restrictions. I wish it could be worked out somehow, because there aren’t any more beautiful watch faces for astronomy lovers than the ones that the Chronometer shows. I tried buying a watch that ran WearOS, but the experience just wasn’t as good as the Apple watch. So I went back to the Apple Watch and just visit the Chronometer faces on my iPhone and iPad.

Exquisite

Amazing. We all have preferences for how some things should be different, feature requests, and so on, but the only real hope I have is that this will stay compatible with the upcoming OS releases in at least the foreseeable future.

instant analog IT fan - astronomy v astrology

As a many-decades expert of both Information Technology, and privately as an Astrologer, went looking recently for an analog equivalent summary of datetime for casual glances at an iPad while working on a Windows laptop in languages Python and R. R of course is Linear Algebra, which in Western 'science' was borrowed very recently in the 19th Century from Babylonian and Chinese matrix mathematics circa 100 BCE. Similarly, Astrology was the root knowledge modern Astronomy dervied from, and similarly neither has gone away today. The analog depictions in the current App are fun, a few touch on the eye-visible 7 traditional planets, however use rise / set Geocentric visible times for location v. Astrological Asc / Desc calculations.

What could be added? (1) Pluto, Neptune, Chiron, Uranus, the Nodes of the Moon. (For full Astrological calculations, depictions, see AstroGold for comparison.) (2) Add also a Settings switch between contemporary astronomical Zodiac calculations (which drift over time), or optionally Astrological Zodiac (30 degrees each, 12 signs, positions set to fixed reference roughly 2000 years ago).

Fun! -reminder everything we do with digital hand-held devices has roots in the Real World, get grounded now!

All TIME Favorite

This was one of my first app purchases, and it is still my favorite of all. Beautiful display(s) and astronomical accuracy. You will learn a great deal.

Great Watch for iPad

Just bought this app for my iPad Air 2. Was using the iPhone version on my iPad. The iPad version is a major improvement over the iPhone version and well worth the five dollar price. You can select multiple clocks and see them actually working in horizontal mode!

Great

What can I Say!!! Great. Amazing. Love it. Thanks

Nice app

There are some nice watch faces in this app. Only three stars because I specifically would like to see both an astrology face that shows Asc and moon phase as well as planetary alignments, and a skeleton watch that shows the gears moving.

Great

Beautiful displays! I love these watches. I wonder if any are available for purchase... Likely way beyond my price I'm sure. Thanks Emerald, I love your software. Also Check out their Observatory, another hit.

Excellent

One of my favorite apps. The balance of aesthetic and mechanics are just right.

I hope they continue to add more.

Very, Very Nice!!!

The Emerald Chronometer is a really lovely app/ device/ design that is made up of 16 different types and styles of chronometers to suit nearly every need and whim.
I'm pretty picky about whether or not a thing is designed well, and Emerald Chronometer is a beauty: the graphics are gorgeous, and the chronometers are very different from each other, not just a re-hash of the same information. As is noted in another review, I think the astrological signs are one sign behind what they really are. Some of the watch faces are as complicated as some wrist chronometers, so I'm not sure I'm reading it right. I will re-read the app info and email the developer, if the signs are off. It should be relatively easy to correct, and it doesn't distract me too much from the watch. (and I used to be married to an astrologer!). I love old (railroad) watches, , so EC is a wonderful surprise. Very Good Job!

Passing The Time

Pleasurably with these awesome timepieces that are impeccably made. Mesmerizing. Excellent job by a very conscientious programmer. Top notch. Can't wait till next new app from them.

Time is an illusion

Great work, they keep updating the app now with retina support. Who needs a 40k perpetual watch with this software, sorry Swiss guys....

Well Worth It!

I wasn't thrilled with the high price of this app versus the same app on the iPod, but I can say it was well worth the cost to upgrade to the full-screen iPad version. Thanks Emerald Sequoia, please add more watches to this app or make more apps!

Very cool!

I'm not into watches, billionaires or "complications" but I am into applications that make great use of iPad's abilities.

Beautiful and useful

If you've ever wanted -- or just be fascinated by $100K watches, or if you've ever wandered outside then the app is a "gotta have." My two favorites are Geneva (a complication that could belong on a billionaire's wrist, and which shown you everything from the year and century to whether this is a leap year to when the sun and moon rise and set. A simply hypnotic chronometer.

My second favorite is Miami, which shows at a glance what planets are visible and when they rose and set. Incredibly useful for the amateur astronomer, or anyone who occasionally wander which of the bright lights in the sky are planets (the ones that don't twinkle).

Each watch has a small manual explaining the watch face. Some of them are so complicated you'll need to keep referring to them until you get comfortable with the one you're using.

Actually, you get almost twice the number of chronometers since most of em have a different watch on the obverse side.

If you have an iPad it's worth the couple if extra dollar to buy the hd version. It's gorgeous!

This app will make your iPad look like a million box when it's running. Can't recommend it too highly.

Complicated to the Max

If you enjoy clock complications, this complete collection of classics and new is for you. Some I never knew.

Changing my review

I previously dinged this and gave it one star because it crashed every time I ran it. For no reason I can understand, it now seems to work perfectly. I'm not aware there was an update.

At any rate, the chronometers are beautiful and seem very functional. I've only began to use this, but it's a thing of beauty. This seems to be true for all the apps this company sells.

Amazingly Fun - Always works perfectly

This is simply the most amazing watch app. It is full of eye candy. It works flawlessly and has many fun wrist watches. Each watch has different features. I really enjoy exploring each watch. Some have astrological information. Some are sophisticated time zone watches. There are many other types of interesting watches to explore. I always enjoy diving in deeply to each watch feature. This app is definitely a great buy and a great value. You will really have fun with it. Buy it!

I have been using this App since a few days after the first iPad (iPad1) was introduced. My experience with this app has been flawless. I see that other people complain about stability. This app works flawlessly... It always has been stable.

Another wonderful, eye candy app, that is made by this same company is Emerald Observatory. It is really beautiful. It is also the single app that I show people who are new to iPads. Emerald Observatory is definitely worth having. It is different and fun and it presents a full screen Chronograph that is full of information.

Back to commenting on this app... I purchased both the iPad and the iPhone version. I am pleased with the app on both devices. It is a great value. I certainly will not be a complainer for the little extra money I paid to have both versions.
