So glad it’s back…

I love this app and was disappointed when it left the store.
But now it’s back I’m so happy, love it. Thanks for bringing it back..

Saved from the app graveyard

I’ve used this app ever since Andy Ihnatko reviewed it some 15 years ago. I still use it to see when sunrises and sunsets will occur to set light timers at my house. When I read the original developers were shutting it down I was sad because no other app can really do what this one can. I am ecstatic to see that its development was picked up and I had an update today. Thank you for picking up the torch!

Thank you

for continuing development and refinement. It’s appreciated.

A++++++++

So glad this is back. One of the BEST apps ever. Thanks.

Thanks!

Thank you for reviving one of my favorite apps.

Still one of my fav apps ever.

Just as beautiful and functional as ever. Many thanks to the new developer for taking on the project, it is greatly appreciated.

Amazing

Amazing app. So glad to see it back in the App Store.

IT’S BACK

How great that this app lives! Was a favorite years ago, now will enjoy again.

There is nothing else like it

I’m sad to see Emerald Sequoia go. Their Observatory is simply nonpareil for clarity. I use it continually. There simply is nothing better. I know. I’ve looked for something as useful for Linux.

Time and space are the essence of all.

This was the first and best app that I ever bought.
I aways send a screen picture to friends who need directions for planets.

My very first app

So sorry to see this go…I found it relaxing

Essential through out the seasons

Also a longtime user, this app is essential if one wants to know our ‘place’ in the solar system, at any time in the day and in any season. The sun swing from solstice to solstice, the local sunrise and sunset, the variation in the day length over the year, are all tracked precisely in an elegant and beautiful manner. Only one wish- that I had this Emerald Observatory as a large clock on the wall in a place where I could glance at it often!

Amazing App

I’ve had this app since it was introduced many years ago. There is nothing even remotely similar to it, so I consider it unique among the tons of content out there.

As with every app that has been in the market for a long time, I hope the developers continue supporting it. The last update was done a year ago.

Still one of the most beautiful apps around (review six years later)

In 2017 I considered Emerald Observatory one of the most beautiful apps around and I stick with that opinion.

I have an old iPad two that sits on the desk in my office running this app
and it serves as my clock, window to the solar system and just a beautiful piece of art.

There is a denseness of information on the screen that rewards observation.

It’s one of my favourite long term apps.

Review in 2017
Very pleased to see this update, indicating interest in keeping this app alive. I bought it several years ago and I still find it an extremely attractive and useful app. The display is very information dense however it rewards study and time. Eventually a glance will tell you a lot. It was the first app where I thought the analogue world had been beautifully rendered in digital and it is still the only app that I will regularly leave running for the visuals.

Perfection!

From my current Facebook post:
If you have even a casual interest in the night sky and own an iPad, you owe it to yourself to buy the Emerald Observatory app. I’ve been using it for over a decade now and it’s one of the few apps I truly love now just as much as the day I purchased it. The price is probably just a few dollars. As an instructional designer and technologist as well as a software developer, I’m simply in awe of how beautifully and perfectly this app is designed and the amount of information that is clearly displayed on ONE screen. Data visualization geeks and designers, take note! This is how the best of the best do it. Exquisite and elegant in every way.

The most awesome clock in the store! Think wallpaper! (Wish)

I am absolutely mesmerized when I open this app. There is so much there! I would really love it if it could be ported to screen wallpaper.

Wonderful App

I got this app when I get my first iPad, and I love it. It’s so beautiful, and it packs in so much information.

Awesome

The best clock app.

Incredibly amazing

This app is so stunning to look at it’s also mesmerizing and beautiful. It’s my clock, I love laying in bed and gazing at it. The Westminster Chime gong for the alarm is not to be slept through. I’m not very adept at night photos but seeing the eclipse on the Eclipse dial is better than “just as good “. I’ve had this app on earlier iPads and on this one it’s even better. Top notch programming!
