Very good Pico-8 emulator

I haven’t used Picpic much, but it seems like the best option right now. The only thing I’m wishing for is more console themes besides colors, and a way to input a Pico 8 license maybe to access Splore and the console and such. Speaking of the console, there should be a way to access it like regular Pico 8 (maybe for if you input a license so you have the full pico 8 thing) so you can do stuff like regular pico 8. Like creating games and such.

Fantastic

Great emulator

This is a great emulator that’s respectful of the player and doesn’t try to shove ads down your throat. I especially love how you can customize the controller layout to play with. I would love to see the Apple Watch support extended to support watchOS 10 for everyone who’s running an older device that cannot update to watchOS 11.

Works great for me

Downloaded a pico 8 game, and can play it natively on my phone! It’ll be cool to use this with games I make myself!

Wouldn’t load games

Was really hoping to use this but it would run the games I added, only the ones it came with. I could import the .p8.png files but when trying to play them FAKE-08 would either freeze or say there are not carts in the directory

Broken games

I see the potential, but all of the PICO-8 games I tried to play crashed and booted me to a “FAKE-8” console screen.

Great potential!

I’ve been waiting for a Pico-8 emulator for iOS and here it is! It’s simple to download .p8 files (carts) from lexaloffle.com to a folder on my iPhone and launch the games in Picpic. The controls need some work—I tried both the touchscreen and the Gamesir Pocket Taco and both were buggy—as I’m sure the devs are aware.
I really hope this app gets lots of support because there is so much potential here!

Great! Just great!

Need an option to move the game screen vertically. Just got my GameSir Pocket Taco, and when connected, the Pico-8 viewport is centered, placing it slightly under my controller. If I had a slider to move the screen vertically, that would be stupendous.

Edit: I found an option to lock the screen to the top when a controller is connected. Perfect!

A great app

Grateful for the dev for creating this app. Some brilliant pico-8 games out there. Try the app and if you like it get the one off IAP. Well worth it

Great but with some problems

My experience with this app has been great since ive been using it except the fact that most advanced pico8 game tend to crach and not work some exemple are : mossmoss , from rust to ash, pico-ball etc. It would be great to have these pico8 classic work.

Some games like Slipways use mouse input (meant to be run on a computer). Thanks for that!

Very promising

Needs a little polish in a few aspects but not much to complain about. Only issues are that itch.io Pico-8 downloads don’t seem to work, and the touch screen controls only respond to long press and double tap input.

Please make the playing area fit the width. Too much wasted space in bezels.

Awesome work, needs more quality of life.

I’m enjoying having a pico emulator on my phone, but I struggle with the d-pad and buttons. It seems like the tolerances are too tight where I’m forced to perfectly place my fingers where the app wants them to be. There’s no “close enough” zone in the control pad. For instance if I try to walk in a circle, there’s a dead zone where I stop walking between the up right down and left buttons.

I’ve had better luck with other touch controls, so I know it can work. Makes gameplay often impossible especially for twitch games.

Very excited to see this product thrive.
