About
Encore is for the person who was in the room with you.
Encore only shows you people who were in the same place at the same time and chose to log it, the same way you did. If two people logged the same place in overlapping hours, they appear in each other's list. Nobody else appears.
If nobody else logged your night, your list is empty. That happens often, and it's how the app is meant to work.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Log where you were.
The place, the night, roughly when. About ten seconds.
2. Encore finds the overlap.
If someone else logged the same place at the same hour, you'll each turn up in the other's list.
3. If you both say "that's them," you match.
Then you can talk.
WHAT STAYS PRIVATE
Before a match, you see a member's photos, first name, age, height, and ethnicity, and the short note they wrote about how they looked that night. Bios and Instagram handles open only after both people have said "that's them." There is no map and no list of who's around you. The only people you can ever see are the ones who logged the same night themselves.
ANY ROOM COUNTS
A café in the afternoon, the gym, a bookshop, a gallery opening. Wherever the two of you spent time in the same place.
WHY IT'S BUILT THIS WAY
Usually the reason nothing happened is ordinary. The check came. Your friends were leaving. They left first. You both left. Encore lets two people pick that evening back up.
SAFETY
Encore is application-based and live in New York City. Every member gives a phone number and an Instagram handle, and a person reviews each application before it's approved. You can block or report anyone, and delete your account, from inside the app.
