v5 Update Ruined the App
I used to love this app. It had so many useful features that really sped up DnD 5e combat AND DnD planning. Making characters, npcs, and other statblocks was super smooth and intuitive.
HOWEVER, after the v5 update, everything sucks. Some features have straight up disappeared, while others have become more difficult to use. My friend even had all of his existing statblocks erased. All of his work put in over the years to make homebrew monsters, just instantly erased. It’s like they used AI to write this update.
I’m still using this app while I finish up my campaign, but as soon as the campaign is over, I’m looking for a different tool. I used to recommend this to all DMs, new and veteran alike, but I simply can’t stress enough how much the v5 update ruined this app.

Deleted Absolutely Everything In An Update
I had spent hours upon hours fleshing out the compendium in the app for my future games when an update I never queued completely deleted all of my content but including all the basic basic spells and monsters for 5e. I’ve already imported and installed their damn 5e rule set and everything is still completely gone. Not a single monster stat block, not a single PC, not a single spell. They deleted literally everything I had spent so many hours compiling.

New Update is Severely Bugged
I used to absolutely love EncounterPlus. Before the recent updates, it was hands down one of the best tools for running D&D campaigns. Everything felt smooth, intuitive, and reliable. Unfortunately, after being forced to upgrade, the app has become practically unusable for me.
References constantly fail to work, editing inside pages causes the page to freeze, and writing or editing content has turned into a frustrating process where I constantly have to back out of pages and reopen them just to type anything. What used to be streamlined and enjoyable now feels like an absolute nightmare to use.
It’s really disappointing because the core app is fantastic when it works. I genuinely want to love it again, and I hope the developers fix these bugs soon because right now the experience is incredibly rough.

Would love an option to do a one time payment instead of a subscription
This is an amazing app and basically the only good on device iPad app for virtual tabletops. However having some of the premium features behind a recurring paywall is unfortunate. Having an alternate additional payment method to buy those features outright would be awesome ^_^. Regardless keep up the great work on making the app better and better to use.

A Dreadful mess
You took a once useful, solid DnD gaming aid and app turned it into a hot mess. Erased years of my data and took what was once was easy to use templates and menus and made them into baffling, laborious affairs. I don’t know if you were seeking to become DnD beyond jr but the results are terrible. Avoid this app at all costs!

I don’t get it
The description gave the impression I could create custom maps and token in the app but I don’t see how. The Help Center isn’t helpful. I purchased Battle Map but don’t see how to do anything with it. The Help Center gets into tools, settings, Layers, etc, but doesn’t show how to actually get to Battle Map. It’s not on my desktop and I don’t see any button of icon for it. This is useless to me.

New update wiped out years of content
I’ve been using this app for years, loved it. Always made running D&D smoother. This new update though wiped all my years of data and I can’t figure out how to get it back. Really makes me sad. Anyone who’s been using it for a while, prepare to start over.

J’ai perdus 4 ans de données, tous le bestiaire malgré la sauvegarde…
L’initiative log ne fonctionne pas bien (les personnages n’apparaissent plus dans la barre de droite lors de l’écran). Je me sers de cet application de manière professionnelle… c’est un beau chaos. Je dois malheureusement me replier sur mes moyens « old school ». Au moins j’ai de l’expérience me trouver des solutions. C’était parfait avant… très déçu.

V5 Deleted Everything
Please tell me your update didn’t actually delete everything I had saved. Please explain how to retrieve the characters and monsters I created. If they were deleted with the update, then this was such a mistake, and I despise what you’ve done.
All progress wiped after update
I like this app because it makes tracking battle encounters easy but after this latest update it deleted literally all of my monsters npc’s and Pc’s.
Update messed everything up
Update nuked my character list. I had them all in their own little collection and now they’re all over the place. Also they all reverted back to their scores just being 8 so I have to fix them all

It’s Good, But…
It was super helpful until it updated on its own and deleted absolutely everything I had done for the past 2 years on it and then did an auto backup so I can’t restore any of it.
Lost Everything…
I loved this app! Used it every time I ran DnD games. Had dozens of custom monsters and hundreds of homebrew items. After the update everything is gone and I can’t seem to get any of them back.
Love This APP
This app rocks. Documentation is not great but if you watch videos on it you’ll find out how much it can do—and it’s crazy how much it can do!
Next version is adding additional game systems which I couldn’t care less about. I’d rather see updates for D&D 2024 instead. Trying to chase a bunch of other game systems is just too much. Mistake if you ask me, but we’ll see. Give this app a try, it’s really good.

Better than dnd and beyond
So much better because there’s not a million pop ups and yes there’s not as much content but you can add whatever you want and for someone trying to run a traditional dnd game with paper this is perfect to speed up combat. You can save combat encounters so just se up every encounter before ur campaign and figuring out how everything works really is not that hard. This is definitely one of my favorite dnd apps

Good for dms
Ok so first of all it helps in battles a ton and i heard the map maker is very good but i dont know how to get onto it
A DM’s Dream
Wasn’t expecting much from this app due to not seeing much about it online compared to things like Foundry VTT, but using it for some time now I have fallen in LOVE!
App is light-weight and perfect for a non-distracting app to DM with. For running an IRL game this is much better and really allows the theater of the mind to shine while bringing some modern VTT functionality to your table.
This app also has really easy ways to import your current D&D Beyond sourcebooks into it so you can create encounters etc.
Last thing is the Discord community. It’s not like POPPIN, but when you ask something there id always someone willing to help and give practical advice.
GET IT
