Endless Adventure RPG User Reviews

Love it

I’ve been playing this for years and I’ve yet to get bored of it. It did take awhile before I was familiar enough with the clunky menu mechanics to enjoy the game to its fullest.

Can only play on iPad

iPhone 12. Can’t get past the name character portion of the game because the in game keyboard covers up the enter button.

Fix it and I’ll rate a 4 star, otherwise

People will pay attention to my post and not download your app

Great RPG

This is the closest you can get to 5E combat on the iPad.

Good intentions; horrible UI

I am sure the developer had some really good intentions when they made this game, and it’s definitely an interesting concept; however, the user interface is absolutely awful and heavily detracts from the other aspects of the game.

Originally, I was going to do 2 stars, but since I can see the developer clearly cares, I’ll give three stars instead.

Really lame

Don’t waste your time or money

Endless fun

Really enjoyed the 4 party member dynamics and some depth to classes. Combat is fun once you figure out you get bonus to hit by crowding on mobs and bonus defense but standing next to folks. You also need to get used to the UI, is fine once you do, but as some stated there is a little learning curve - example choosing class is during combat. Hidden heroic classes are combos of 2 classes when you get to level3 each. You can restart by removing party members at inn, and then going to first town and can then make more characters. Once you figure out and get used to all the little nuances, it’s great fun to maximize a 4 party and push through things.

Anything this developer puts out is awesome

I love this game just like all the other ones, it does make me sad to see dungeons of evermore and endless nights being outdated and stuff I would ask of you to update those games so I can continue to play them. I consider your basic engine my favorite take on rogue like and dungeon crawling games both! And all of your games are just just different takes and perspectives on this engine, I love it! Please bring endless nights and dungeons of evermore if that’s what it’s called, I beg of you!

A few Glitches

The game graphics, music, etc. are ok.

Continue to play the game from level 1-5, give or take. I doubt that developers have actually sat down, played the game, taken notes, etc.

Periodically I have to reboot because the graphics rendering goes kaput - images turn black. And, periodically players can be moved but they are immediately dragged back. Time to reboot again.

As a software developer for 35 years, I would say that the game probably has lots of memory leakage, poor pointer management, etc. I give the software product a D+.

But I like the concept. The game does not play as described; a very unbalanced, player hostile game.

Great game

I love party based rpgs with lots of customization, and that's exactly what this is. Decent combat and a greater coherence of narrative and action then your average rogue-like make this a solid game. Tactically the game might be a bit better if there were more frequent terrain bonuses and either a movement penalty or free attack/damage to adversaries moving past one another. It would also be helpful if you could get descriptions of classes/abilities/stats.

I have one complaint. There seems to be no way to quit or reset the game which means that if I mangle some aspect of character development (such as accidentally selecting defender for a class I don't want it on which I've done at least 10 times now) I have to delete the game and download it again. Not sure if this is intentional, but it certainly is annoying. Hardly a deal-breaker though. Overall this is a great game.

Response from developer

Glad you enjoy the game! You can 'start over' in a sense. The game is designed to keep going. You can even have total party kill and still work towards the 'main' quest, and the main quest line will start over after it is completed. You can remove characters from the party in the inn. You can create new characters at the starting town in the inn or in the special store of any other town by spending adventure points. (I wanted to limit power leveling, so you can't freely create characters in higher level town areas.) You can go back to a previous town by removing all characters from the party, leaving the inn and tapping the gate as if to go on an adventure. This will offer you a choice of going to the first town or any other town you have characters.

Fun

I enjoy this game a LOT... it's a rare find in the App Store;)
The creator held true to the "old school " d20 game mechanics- which makes it more like having a DM vs. "Preset" adventures found in so many RPG's.... the art is great ( if not so noticeable due to the smaller format - my ONLY complaint ), the
"identity" feature is hella cool ( and offsets my complaint ), and the randomness is uniquely suitable/ awesome✌🏽

The plight of the Player

I do enjoy the game itself, but it could be better.

The UI could stand to improve, as it's missing in many places, and where it does exist it's fairly rudimentary and unclear.

The lack of a crafting system is regrettable, and the shop system isn't good. It could be replaced by a storage system, and a new and interesting shop could be included, mimicking the Endless Depths version. The Crystal shop is useless except for the recruit and the potion, so that could be revamped.

Speaking of potions, the lack of healing skills and potions means that characters get to low health very quickly. The fact that there is no real taunt system means that enemies will just target your back row indiscriminately. That could be changed by having a cleric class that focuses on healing more than buffs, and having warriors generate taunt passively. Having every other even level of a class actually be useful would be nice too.

Sad

Its not as good as the previous games imo

Response from developer

Hey Toast. I assume you are referring to Endless Depths 2 or Endless Nights. Feel free to send me what you disliked in this one compared to those at nationssoftware@gmail.com -- this would help when it comes time to contemplate Endless Depths 3.

I love it! Amazing game!

Every map is generated randomly, however it eventually they all end up leading to the goal of the mission. At first the controls might seem a little odd, but it makes sense. Artwork of the game is unique, and skill sets feel very unique.

5/5 keep it up!

Really want to like it but so many issues

I love party based rpgs, so I really want to like this game. It has a lot of potential. However the UI is just terrible. So many weird design/development choices. Like the fact that the only way to choose a new skill is by tapping on an enemy and selecting the plus icon?! That's bizarre and so unconventional. I should be able to choose from the character screen. And then what in the world does the freeze/unfreeze button do?? And why can't I equip anything while in town? Why do I have to wait until I leave town? And it would be really nice to be able to pan the camera around.
The game needs a lot of work. If that work is done, I'll gladly raise my rating.

Alright

Endless Adventure RPG is a decent turn based RPG, but it's biggest issues is that the game feels a bit sluggish with movement and combat, there isn't an option to pan the camera around (or at least not an obvious one) and lastly if an enemy offscreen charges and attacks one of my party members, I can't see whether or not my party member takes damage or not because they're off screen and the camera didn't follow the enemy.

It's a decent RPG, it's just it feels sluggish and has camera issues. (Also a dice rolling mini game for attacking and defending would be cool)
