Best Crawl on iOS

If you like old school dungeon crawls like Angband and the original Rogue - you’ll love this. Hands down, the best roguelike, the best rpg, the best dungeon crawl on this platform. One of my favorite games on any platform. Love it.

Great Gameplay Tired of Freezing

Game play is great for the most part little lacking when it comes to information for this game online to try and learn more about it before diving in but that’s okay.

However every time I play without fail I’ll get into some fight and I don’t know what it is my game starts freezing mid fight where I have to quickly close the game and re open it to get one attack in before it freezes again after combat is done it stops being frozen until a few more combats later doesn’t happen every combat but to many of them to count and it’s really annoying.

A wreck of a game

Doesn't remember the name I picked for my character. Doesn't remember the gear I pick up in the dungeon. Tends to lock up every few minutes. How does it get good reviews in this state? Game is a great example of how suspicious game/app reviews are nowadays.

Amazing game, can be brutal

Simplistic crawler that is very fun, but it’s best to grind to get character up in levels, go too deep too fast and you are toast. Weapons, armor and magic items are very slow in gaining power. But well worth playing.

Closest thing to Angband on IOS

I’ve been a huge fan of Angband for decades. It’s nice to finally see a version for the iPhone. I have downloaded and deleted dozens of supposed rogue-likes. They all fall short. Nothing captures the dungeon crawl experience like this! Thank you!

Obnoxious Sound Volume

This app BADLY needs a sound control feature. The Mage attacks in particular are obnoxiously loud! The user should NOT be expected to adjust their device volume just to play this game without disturbing everyone around them! Please add a sound volume control to the game! Other than that badly needed feature, this is a great game.

I am playing a character that has NO mage or priest abilities and can’t get a response from the developer. The online documentation says there is no prerequisite for mage or priest skills but I don’t have them! So I can’t get bard or related abilities.

It holds up!

I'm still picking up this rogue like, because it strikes a great balance of challenge and playability (for one, you don't die every 5 minutes!) the random dungeons are interesting and you don't need to waste time searching for hidden doors. Choice of optional attack "skills" make this game a bit more interesting (quick blow for speedy monsters, or cleave for more powerful but slow moving monsters). Controls at snappy, and having the virtual joystick as well as the tap-here options are nice for variety. The game might benefit from some bigger goals like quests, and I have yet to find a single run, but gaining new skills over time is nice.

NOTE: the game occasionally hangs when in a fight, but simply quit the app and restart right back where you were.

No app support

This game locks up all the time on my iPhone SE, iPad mini 4, and iPad 6. This game is corrupt and needs redoing.
Sent two messages and haven’t got a reply, don’t know how it got all those star’s

Great to see Moria/Angband/Roguelike game on iOS!

I played Moria at the university back in the early 90s. I later played its successor Angband on and off for two decades. Really wonderful to find this game in the app store!

Please get rid of near invincible ice wraiths and Spectres

This is an incredible game, don’t get me wrong. It’s fun and addictive and well crafted. But recently I’ve run into creatures with 75% poison and magic resistance, weakness to light, and 100% resistance to literally everything else, including physical attacks. This is one case where I believe the game to be unbalanced, because playing a melee character means almost certain death when faced with one of these, especially since almost all monsters follow you RIGHT up your bum with almost no way to get away from them. We don’t need incredibly fast monsters that are 100% invincible unless you have very specific abilities.

Broken

About five minutes in and game completely froze. Unable to do anything.

Awesome !

Im a fan of your games, I have all of your endless games! Good job, best roguelike of Apple Store

Game ending bugs

I like the game, but occasionally you'll go to a different level and won't be able to move/teleport...leaving you with only suicide as an option. Frustrating when you have a couple hours into a character and it dies to a game bug.

Overall. It's a fun waste of time.

Heir to the retro RPG throne

Love it. Handles great but looks like my childhood games. One of the worst things about randomly generated environments is that they often look totally fake and out of place. Endless Depths 2 does great placing pseudorandom elements like hallway statues and fountains and altars to make dungeons memorable. Great "as you fight, so shall you level" character development too. Try a true retro RPG. Take it from someone who was there!
