Worst
I hate this app its the worst so old needs better updated features no more of that two step verification bs
Worst banking app around
Login is not integrated with Passwords app.
Always requires 2FA—no remember me.
Check deposit function is garbage—there is a validation if for writing “for mobile deposit only” on check. If you write “for mobile deposit” it gets rejected. Sometimes gets rejected even if properly written.
Check camera auto capture works 25% of the time.
Garbage.

Always check what you have before updating
I recently received an email from Energy Capital suggesting I DELETE my current app & download the new/improved app. I checked the version that I currently have and found that the occasional updates I receive notifications of (via the Apple App Store) & subsequently downloaded smaller updates had kept my current app version to be the exact same VERSION # that was on the website. So I didn’t need to delete anything. Always check before you update.

No mobile deposits now!
They did an update and now I cannot do a mobile deposit anymore.
Dated
Someone stole my banking app from the 80s and gave it to ECCU.
Bad
Awful app and awful credit union.
If “complicated” was an app:
I’d leave negative stars if I could
App No Longer Works
Ever since they changed the UI, the app has no longer worked for me. It logged me out of my account fully, so I’m unable to use FaceID to log in. I am also not able to paste in my login info from a password management app, and the login page doesn’t let me use keychain data to login either. I have a feeling it may be with the password text field, a regular SecureField would show the most recent typed character for a split second before redacting it, while this field replaces it with a • right away. But also, if the update was well thought out, it shouldn’t have logged everyone out in the first place. Now I’m just completely unable to log in on my phone at all so I can’t check my accounts with ECCU while away from my computer.

Desperately seeking details
Areas for improvement…
1. Using the app from a phone you can’t see the description of the transaction without having to click open to view details, in the previous iteration high level details such as who was drafting from the account, status, and the amount was in immediate view for each transaction where the only action needed was to scroll. Now we have to make a lot of clicks just to view those high level details which make it tedious and time consuming.
2. More importantly, the alerts are also lacking the description details of the transaction forcing users to have to open the app which defeats the purpose of alerts.
The alerts and app’s high level details should work together making for easy reference.

Now with added insecurity
I use a vault for all of my sensitive info as everyone should. It allows me to use more complex passwords and authentication methods without having to remember them for each site. So this latest update to an already 2 star app makes it to where I can’t copy data over from my vault. Instead - I have to open both and switch between them with my password in clear text for an extended period of time where anyone can look over my shoulder. Ridiculous. On top of that - I am disabled and already use accessibility features to help me with typing. It basically means it is a repeated effort if I am to get the password right. This needs to be fixed immediately.

Change banks
I’ve been trying to sign into my bank for days now. To access MY OWN MONEY. Both the app and the browser site on my computer keep loading until I eventually get an error. This is not an account issue but a server issue that NEEDS TO BE FIXED NOW. It’s only a matter of time before somebody files a lawsuit bc they weren’t able to access there money in a real emergency. I’ve called about issues similar to this in the past and tech support was of no help at all. They might as well not exist. I’m already in the process of switching banks and I strongly recommend others to do the same.

Needs lots of work
It seems to be limited on how much info it shows. Lately I don’t waste my time logging in and instead go to the online banking. Also I’m disappointed that Venmo is not embedded in the bank app, and this limits transactions or amounts per month because you have to use Venmo separately. Very inconvenient.

Sign in issues
App not remembering sign in information
Sorry guys, still not quite there
I think the first glaring issue is that this brand new system can only handle a FOUR (?!) to SIXTEEN character password. In this day in age, the minimum should be 16 characters and maximum should be something along the lines of a 128 character password. Especially when logging into a financial institution, with personal data and potentially tens of thousands in assets.
The other is that I still cannot believe that you can’t view your credit card, make payments, etc. without being redirected out of the mobile app to the desktop website.
I’m hopeful that improvements such as these will be made to help work out the kinks, but given ECCU’s past update history (not frequent at all), I suppose I shouldn’t be too optimistic.

Oh it’s not that bad
Yes if you use a password manager/generator you might have a problem with the 16 character limit. However the app is far better than trying to access the website with a browser. Also, if you allow it to remember your user ID it will go directly to the fingerprint ID when firing it up. That is consistent with Citi and AMEX for example, but not Chase. Need to reframe tab for Bill Pay as text is too small. Hopefully they will get into s flow of updates.
