English Words For Thought

English Words for Thought is a one-player word game. Behind the scenes, the app chooses a five-letter word as the target word. You must guess the target word by entering letters on each line.   As you work through the puzzle, pressing the "Enter" button after each word will change the color of the letters in the game board and the keyboard to give you clues. Any letters that are in the word will turn orange. Any letters that are in the right position will turn green. Letters that are not in the word, will remain gray. As you navigate through the game board the app will advance your cursor position after each letter. If you need to return to a a particular letter space on the row you are working on, you can use arrow buttons on the keyboard, or just touch the letter in the game-board. There is a red dotted outline around each letter box that shows your cursor's current position, so you will know which letter space you are on at all times. You can only navigate through the row of letter boxes that you are working on and you continue on to the next row after you have entered a five-letter word. When you reach the end of a row you are working on, you must press the "Enter" key to advance to the next row. If you guess the target word by the last row, you will be rewarded with a trumpet blast (so you may want to keep your sound down low.). If you don't get the word, we'll show you the word in the space between the keyboard and game board. We have added some interesting changes to the rules which you may be familiar with from other such word games. For example, we don't care if you spell every word correctly. As long as you try to spell a five-letter word, we'll still tell you if the letters you guessed are in the word. You're welcome and have fun!
