Most Pathetic Learning App

Horrible UI and UX, Less interactive, Dull, total waste.

Problems logging in

Hey there. Whats wrong with logging into the app? Keeps saying network issues or cant reach the apple account. Fix the bug please. Whatever it is it doesn’t allow me to log in

Loving Enki!

It is simple enough for a beginner to start feeling comfortable with the basics to get into coding and machine learning. Highly recommend.

SO GOOD

This is just so good and i hope i get a reply from the owner

ID works but now it crashes

I had two different IDs. My one without a subscription finally accepted the subscriber ID. I have the full course, but it now crashes. I have to restart it, and it starts over.

⚠️ CHECK YOUR REFUND AMOUNT - Deceptive Business Practices

DO NOT TRUST THEIR REFUND EMAILS.
I requested a refund on Nov 2, 2024 for the $102 charge. They sent me an email titled "Your Enki Labs, Inc. refund [#3003-2060]" - which made me think I received a full refund.
They only refunded $1.00.
The subject line was intentionally misleading so I wouldn't open it and check the actual amount. This is a deceptive business practice designed to trick customers.
One year later, they charged me $120 WITHOUT my authorization. I never agreed to continue the subscription - I had "cancelled" and thought I was refunded.
WARNING TO OTHERS:
* If you request a refund, OPEN the email and verify the actual amount
* Check your credit card statements monthly for recurring charges
* Screenshot everything when you cancel
* Consider disputing with your credit card company
This is predatory behavior. I'm now dealing with my credit card company to dispute both the original $102 AND the new $120 charge.

Why you shouldn’t download this!

Only a professional programmer can understand this. And you have to pay for all the AI help! This is the worst app I’ve ever used

While not perfect, best app for learning programming I've used so far

Overall, a very helpful supplement to learning how to program; it provides challenges that force you to think without withholding information altogether that you need to successfully complete an exercise. It avoids being too easy (some apps feel too much like handholding). The best learning is done when you have the tools you need, but you actually have to think and reference your knowledge. The AI also offers helpful advice and feedback.

That said, occasionally, lessons can be confusing or poorly explained, though this is a minority; most lessons are fine. I noticed this issue mostly in the "coding intro" portion around the "functions" lesson, in which we are taught a very specific chain of steps to run a function... and then it turns out the all-caps terms prior to the actual commands in the function aren't actually used.

Maybe that's just me being dense, but it was not intuitive to me. Again, though, the vast majority of lessons through this app have been good and hit the right balance, difficulty-wise.

I recommend using this as a supplement while also learning on your own via books and an IDE on desktop or laptop computer.

Well…

I am doing SQL and can’t say for other materials. But SQL learning materials should be improved. Awful explanation of Joins. Just awful. Why do you provide such difficult and complicated examples? Even with regard to names of the columns? Why not to make short and clear tables FOR BASIC knowledge? People do their first steps, don’t you understand? We are already tired of reading those huge pokemon tables with super duper long column names. Just why over complicate in a textbook for beginners?

But there are also good chapters in your app. I am not just criticizing, I also see good points.

Wonderful Laid Back Practice

I'm a professional software engineer and I'm loving these exercises and this format for brushing up on my skills and casually learning new concepts. The exercises are the perfect size for casual consumption when I have downtime and find myself on my phone. Thank you for creating this!

simple ui

I like the exercises and the price is affordable. good for reviewing core concepts

Content is lacking

Beware, much of the content is ok, but there's plenty's of blatant mistakes and outdated material. Some of the learning modules for a programming language are nothing more than the Hello World (e.g., the c++ module).

I feel like such a chump paying money for this.

Good app, but crashes are annoying

The app itself is good, but one of the lessons keeps crashing the whole app every time I try to solve one of the questions.

Lacks Polish, Rough Edges

Enki is a perfectly adequate platform for learning programming and other related skills. Be aware that the exercises are more about reading and less about hands-on practical application. I personally don’t think it yields greater results than reading and working through exercises in a well written book on a specific language.

The support is non-existent. I could never get the login to the website to work and it is a different authentication mechanism than the mobile app. Bottom line for me, not worth the price for what it really provides, but others might get more benefit. It does have a built-in AI tutor which is better than expected.

Excellent Customer Service

My account has been deleted, no one responds via their contact form. My subscription is still active until December.

Lenguaje

La app en si es muy muy buena, pero por favor, aunque el idioma futuro en el código es el ingles, poner la opción de ponerlo en español ya que pagas, para los principiantes….
