Simple, fit for purpose meditation timer.
I have been using. Ensō for about 3 years. I just wanted a meditation timer with a peaceful gong sound that I could set at whatever time I wanted. Ensō delivers exactly that, and a bit more too, if you want that. I like that it has a set up time, to get ready to meditate before the start gong sounds, and a mid - session gong to keep me focused or let me switch to a different meditation type. Timings of all these fully adjustable. App presentation is clean and easy to learn. Well done!

This is by far the best meditation app I have used and I have tried them all!!! It is ultra streamlined, enjoyable and easy to operate, and customisable to suit my needs. It is such a well built, seamless app that has stayed on my phone for many years as it's one of those apps that functions well with no unnecessary frills but does exactly what I need.
When I had a query and contacted the development team, I was pleasantly surprised to receive some of the kindest and most helpful customer service I have ever had the delight of experiencing! They were sweet and extremely generous and kind.

I've been using Ensō for years and have always loved its simplicity. Simple, and also fully customizable, from beautiful bell sounds to length of intervals and meditation. This latest update is icing on the cake.
Excellent Time for Stillness
I have used this app for a couple of years now. It allows me to catch a breather to do nothing. The timer is an excellent tool. Wouldn’t be able to do nothing without it!

Excellent Meditation App
I’ve been using this meditation app since it came out. It’s very straightforward, no stereotypical graphics of buddhas or lotus flowers, a settings screen for premeditation countdown, total meditation time, interval bells to spark concentration, and end bell. You can purchase additional bells with the whole bell set if you choose. I bought a double Japanese temple bell so I know when the bell signals the end of meditation. You can customise bell choice for beginning, interval and end bells. The bell recordings are excellent! Other options allow for more customisation and some cutesiness. The developer is extremely responsive!

I’ve been using the app for years, as I love the simplicity. Some of the design and features were starting to look old and not work, so glad it’s had a bit of an update!
Why Did You Kill the Cat ?
Excellent app. Truly 5-star. I’ve been using it for years. It’s simple, clean, and well-structured. The redesign is disappointing — a bit clinical and soulless. And I miss the cat that appeared after every meditation session! Bring back the cat!

nice design, beautiful sounds, integrates with Health App, and doesn’t try to upsell you anything. Everything you need and nothing you don’t. Love it.
Crashes when trying to change sounds—but still very good
I really like this simple timer—so nice to set your parameters, then next time you open it, just press “begin.” I used to use Insight Timer, but these days you have to click through pages of money-grabbing bloat. The only problem I have with Ensō is that it crashes whenever I try to change any of the sounds. Otherwise I’d give it 4 or 5 stars.

Problems
There are some good ideas in this app, but major issues as well. Most serious, the app pauses under certain circumstances, eg a reminder goes off. Second the UI is not great. Hard to set the numbers. Dark colours.
