What's New in Entropy

2.3

September 26, 2020

It's been a long while but Entropy 2.3 is here with both some important changes and some fun changes! Entropy 2.3 is the iOS 14 update! Check out what's new: -Entropy now has Widgets! Lots of them too! I encourage you to check them out for yourself and pick which ones you like best but as a quick overview, there are two types: - Episode Picker: Episodes generate every 20 minutes, the widget can be tapped to get more episode info (action depends on your preferences). For the Favorite Show Widget, edit the widget for yourself from the Home Screen to pick which show is used! - Show Buttons: Features your top 2 or 4 shows on the widget as buttons that can bring you into the app to an episode from that show -To get more episode info on the main view, you now just hold down on the episode. For favoriting, just double tap. -Item Picker has been added and put behind the Dice icon on the main view with the Number Generator. You can add items there and then tap the top box to pick an item from the list. -Moved filter setting to main view with a new icon and color changing to indicate which filter you’re using. -Presets have been removed. Your show list may reset to default with this change but this should only happen once and shouldn’t affect any other preferences. -Added the rest of Rick and Morty Season 4 -Added Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 7 -Some icons have been moved around and changed. Notably, the main view now has two additional buttons on the side of the screen and the Episode Info window has 3 buttons below it for sharing and searching the episode, and learning about the API. -Changed the font to the system font. -We’re looking into better methods for iCloud Syncing so there may be some inconsistencies. This shouldn’t affect you unless you regularly reinstall the app. -Entropy has a newly supported URL format. This will allow Entropy’s widgets to give you episode info right away, instead of making you do that. (Format: “entropy://EP{showCode}-{seasonNum(xx)}{episodeNum(xx)}”. -Entropy is now using the TVDb API for episode information. We’re hoping this will provide more reliable results. That's everything for this one! Thanks again for your support!

This is the most incredible app I ever did see. As an indecisive person I use this everyday. Helped get me through quarantine.

Hi

Umm. Pointless

For people who cant decide i guess. Tbh. The scope of 16 shows is too limiting to justify a whole app

Response from developer

Hi, Dijutal assassin! I’m sorry to hear my app didn’t reach your expectations. The selection of shows is based on what shows I think are most optimal to begin watching at any point in the show. Shows like The Office or How I Met Your Mother are great for this because they tend to center their episodes around one topic or event and then seclude that topic or event to that episode (save for later references to the event and underlying storylines). Avoiding the use of an API to allow all shows to be used is a design choice that was made when the app first started in development, but maybe that will change sometime in the future. As for the app’s use, I’m not going to convince you that the app is for you when it isn’t; I’ve had some say it’s great for what it is and some say they don’t really get it, but everyone is different. 🙂 For your consideration, the app provides a random number generator and the ability to pick a random item out of a list, both accessible from the dice 🎲 icon on the main screen. These two features are a bit more broad and might be useful to you in everyday life so feel free to keep the app for that if you want, but I’m sure there are better apps for that as well. If you’d like to continue this discussion, or have any further suggestions for me, feel free to email entropyapp@icloud.com and I’ll get back to you. Thanks, Tyler
