Looks like what I need

Unfortunately I can't buy the map addon (the button just bounces and does nothing) and this isn't useful without tokens.

I don’t know what’s happening

It is not going to my Home Screen

Way too difficult to use

Even with the tutorial it is very difficult to understand what to do, and importing anything is an annoying process. I should be able to import images and other files directly from my phone, I shouldn’t need to use dropbox.

Great potential but getting there

Edit: I’ve been able to learn much more about this app now, and have been successful using it in a number of my D&D games. Yes there are still some User Interface issues, but you can usually work around them. Along with a few limitations that I wish were either not there are less restrictive… but all in I’m getting on with it much better now.

This looks to be a possible replacement for Roll20 online battle maps and play. But it’s not finished, not very intuitive, often asks for input but not able to do so (I.e. just wanted to add some goblins to the map I had created and showed me a pop up that I could not change from blank, which added 0 goblins!) And the tutorial videos don’t work, just a blank blue square! Another seems like it has something, app, but simply falls short, I can only hope the developer puts more time into it to make it a function app that will attract more users…

Cool but a little tedious…

This app seems cool enjoyable and helpful and I honestly want to use it as soon as possible, but but there are two small parts that are actually big in the game. The Spell/weapon area and the maps. It would be extremely helpful if all the spells and weapons were already built in with the app and all we have to do is choose the ones each player had, but we don’t have that we have to enter each one individually part by part. And about the maps, you don’t necessarily have to make this feature but it would be very helpful to have premade maps in the app. I am an experienced DM and player and don’t really have the creativity yet to make my own maps it’ll be very helpful if I had some preview of what other labs look like and were able to use them. Or maybe if we just had a tavern or a lake or something or somewhere important, but again it’s not very necessary.

????

I really don’t know how to work this. it seems like it could be quite useful when I figure out how to use it, but I haven’t a clue.

Extremely Well Done

This app is indeed very useful for both my national and international community, it not only allows me to address all campaigns I’m running but I can do it whilst I’m out as the movements and actions of the party are done in real time. As a writer and illustrator I can appreciate the time and effort put into this, it is also handy to have an updatable compendium, I would have liked to see Volos Guide and the PHB in there as well to help new players but never the less, it is a well thought out app. As a professional DM I can not endorse this enough, I very much look forward to your future updates.

Way too hard to figure out

I don’t get how to do anything, the app is not easy to understand and all, I would like it if you made things easier to understand, I would say how, but I don’t even understand enough to even know how to do it, and I am an A Honnor Role student.

Another go (again)

About a year ago I set out to have my games run solely on iPad. Currently I have found two amazing combined apps. First, Encounter + is not one of my favored because of the subscription they added for a fully purchased app. The interface is far from being user friendly and it has a poor version of a map creator the is difficult to manage. It decent but not close to be being a good app. The unsupported Battle Maps 2, still works on iOS 13. Great for map building but spreading a floor image is nearly impossible and tedious. The controls of characters could be improved such as Encounter+ but is my go to for maps and supports imaging to tv with a players view for free. Game Master5 is intimate for a GM except it’s missing the map feature. It allows for initiative tracking, images, handouts, editing items creatures, etc. before I start this trial again, I got to say I’m a bit excited as I knew there was potential from when they first started. I’ll further my review as I utilize the tool.

And so I’m here again, seems like the map is taking precedence however the tools, with a tutorial, are still not very user friendly. Having created a campaign I can’t even find where to add chapters. Then there’s encounters. I’ll give it a longer wait before purchases, I will admit somethings are very useful but I don’t want to invest in inputting tons of infor just to have an app I can’t use. Ah and the interface won’t fully show on an iPhone XR.

Better, thanks

Thanks to this last update it made it a lot more easier to handle and understand. But I am having problems with adding creatures to the initiative and I am not sure if it has to do with the new interface, because I didn’t had that problem before

Its Alright but there is a bit of false advertising

When you look at the images and read the description, this app gives you, it makes it seem as if the map-making tool is easy and free. Then when you download the app it tells you that you must pay for the ability to make a map. There is a free map-maker on this app, but all it does is give you a marker and a white grid. It’s honestly better to draw a map on paper for free instead of having to buy this map-maker and use it on a screen.

Good look but poor carry through

The app looks good but is nowhere near as user friendly, or robust as GameMaster5 nowhere near as clear as Encounter+. Also, until you at least pay for the $3 premium the ad banner blocks out menus on top. As it is it's pretty much useless.

This is not worth the space or time

Was not able to do anything on the app other than Change names on something’s. Also I kept getting sent to the website making not worth downloading.

Can not restore purchase or logon

Something is seriously broken. The app will not restore the purchase, nor will it login using the same I’d and password which I login to the gavelsoft itch site. So madenning! Will revise review stars to four once these are both fixed.

Amazing software!

With enough time and effort you can get a lot stored on here. Having a campaign that you can transfer between your phone and your PC is amazing and convenience so that you can work on it whenever you want. having it on your phone makes it easy for ideas that pop-up so that we can write down your stroke of genius!

Close to Greatness

The app is extremely useful and has a plethora of features. However, the UI is uninviting and difficult to navigate. The animations don’t feel like they fit in well with the iOS platform. The screens seem cluttered and some UI interactions are unintuitive.

The app is able to deliver a pleasant DMing experience and is very convenient.

Great potential

The app is a little cumbersome, but after getting used to it I'm sure it would be better. For example scrolling through the creatures will accidentally drag and drop onto the map. Really cool features, the biggest problem is importing won't work. I would be happy to even bring this up to a 5 despite some of the awkwardness if I could bolster the content. I have other apps that suffice, but have the import feature working so I am going to have to stick with them. But I will check back after later updates to see if I'll make the switch, I really like the map and sound incorporation - but need to be able to import content.

Awesome app

As someone looking to GM for the first time I’m excited this came out before I started. It’s got all the main stuff I want and any info that isn’t included due to copyright can be added with xml just like several other dnd apps. I think it’s small for the iPhone and definitely more suited for the iPad or desktop but this is amazing for a free app, especially with how full featured it is while being so young.
