5 stars from me

Epilogue is a fantastic app for book lovers. It’s simple, beautifully designed, and makes it easy to save quotes, thoughts, and reflections while reading. Everything stays organised and easy to revisit later. Highly recommend I’d never switch app!

Thank you so much for this wonderful review! I'm thrilled that epilogue has become part of your reading life and that saving your quotes, thoughts, and reflections feels effortless. Keeping everything organised and easy to revisit is exactly what i set out to do, so it means a lot to hear it's working for you. Happy reading — and thank you for the recommendation! 📚

Needs fixes

I was on the lookout for a reading tracker that does not have an annual subscription fee and found this one. I really like that I can individualize some of the features, such as color and use of icons. I also enjoyed that I was able to import all of my reading stats.
However, this tracker has a few flaws. It is not as intuitive as it seems, and often does not find the books I have imported. It also does not seem to be able to download many of the book covers. I am most annoyed, though, that I am unable to add more reading time to a book if I pick up the book more than once. The sync between Apple devices is also hit and miss.
I will give tracker a little bit more time because it seems to be new and kicks need to be ironed out. I hope I can update this review with a higher rating later. For now, it only gets an average rating despite the cute dragon.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful review — this is exactly the kind of feedback that helps me make epilogue better, and I really appreciate you giving it time while it finds its feet. 🐉 A few of your points are spot on, and I'm already on them: Adding reading time when you pick a book up more than once — you're right, and I've fixed it. Multiple sessions in the same day now add together properly, and I'm making your logged reading time clearer to see on the day itself so it doesn't feel like it vanished. Covers not downloading — some editions genuinely have no cover in the sources I search, but I'm improving the lookup (and you can always add your own from your photos). I'm also making that option easier to find. Not finding imported books — this is a first, and I'd love to squash this; if you can tell me a title or two that won't come up, it'll help me pin it down fast. Sync between Apple devices — I'm actively working on making this more reliable. If it's still flaky for you, please email me (in Settings → Contact) and I'll help directly. same for ANY issues you may find, just one email away from helping you directly. Intuitiveness — fair, and I'm smoothing the rough edges as fast as I can. there is a lot of features in th app and making them flow is something im working on as i get feedback. so thank you. Many of these improvements arrive automatically (no App Store wait). restart your app and hopefully youll see them working better now. I genuinely hope it earns that higher rating — and I'm thrilled the dragon landed. 🙂

Amazing Book Tracker!

I love this app and use it daily ever since I downloaded it. It has all the main features found in other popular apps and so much more! You can even customize the app colors! 🤯 I love that there are no ads, no subscription, and a developer that is incredibly responsive to adding suggested features. I have tried a ton of book tracking apps and as an avid reader, trust me, this is the app you want to download. For the features and customization alone, it’s beyond worth the download and lifetime time price! It’s hands down one of the best I’ve come across for daily tracking.

Polished app but imperfect uploading

This app works well for most reading requirements. In my case, working with multiple languages and international ISBNs the app requires me to manually add titles. Otherwise the app is well designed by a responsive developer.

Response from developer

Thanks for taking the time to review — and sorry it's been frustrating so far. A bit of honest context on the search and cover issues: Title/ISBN lookups and cover art come from public book databases (Google Books and Open Library and varioyus others). They're great for mainstream titles but can be genuinely patchy for niche, academic, self-published or non-English books — so an ISBN that isn't in those databases comes back empty. That's a limitation of the data sources rather than the app itself; every tracker that relies on these APIs hits the same wall. You're never blocked by it, though — you can add any book manually, type the details yourself and set your own cover from your photo library or camera, so even the most obscure title is fully trackable. On the amount you fill in per book: that depth is deliberate. Epilogue is built to be detailed — formats, page counts, genres, dates, notes and more — so your stats and tracking are genuinely rich, and it's one of the things readers tell me they love most. Most of those fields are optional, and the app auto-fills whatever it can find from the databases, so you only add the bits you care about. If there are specific ISBNs that returned nothing, send them over — I can check whether it's a database gap or something I can improve on my end. Happy to help directly: epilogueapp@gmail.com.

Best Book Tracking Experience

This is a lovely app. Aesthetically pleasing. Customisable. And has so many functions I didn’t know I needed! The import from Goodreads was simple. My TBR shelf has resurfaced Kindle books I’d forgotten I had. Where other apps feel clunky, Epilogue is smooth. Very well developed and researched. Simply brilliant!

Thank you so much — what a lovely thing to wake up to! "Functions I didn't know I needed" is the exact feeling I was chasing, so that genuinely made my day. And I love that your TBR shelf resurfaced Kindle books you'd forgotten you owned — rediscovering something already on your shelves is one of my favourite little wins. You're spot on that a lot of care (and a fair bit of research) went into making it feel smooth rather than clunky, so "simply brilliant" means the world. Happy reading!

Great app!

This app is great for tracking and challenging yourself. It finds most books through a barcode scanner or 2 searching the title and author, but if you for some reason cannot find the book, you can add manually. You can tag themes of the book, genre, era, or whatever tags you want to give your books to keep track in your statistics, and you can say whether you DNFd it or what star rating you would give it. You can leave books in the TBR, and even track whether the book was borrowed, bought, or checked out from the library. I love the challenge feature, which includes pre made challenges or you can make your own. I started one that I call “outdoors and active” that would be great for audio books. Overall it’s a pretty solid app for anyone to track their reading in whatever way they feel is best for them. Highly recommend!

Thank you so much — this genuinely made my day, and what a thoughtful review to write. You've nailed exactly what I was going for: track your reading however suits you. It's lovely hearing which bits you're leaning on — the tags for themes and era, the DNF and star ratings, and tracking whether a book was borrowed, bought, or from the library (that one's a quiet favourite of mine). And your "outdoors & active" challenge is a brilliant idea — I might genuinely add it as a preset. Thanks for taking the time to write all this, and for the recommendation. It means a lot coming from someone who clearly reads — and tracks — the way I hoped people would.

Outstanding

I’ve only been using it for a few days and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how everything it turning out. When I thought I had an issue, I reached out to the developer, the issue was sorted within the hour. Great customer service and honestly such a great product! The app name is pretty much genius when you think about it ! The app design is pretty cool too! And only for one payment? No subscriptions. No add-ons. This better get more popular than Goodreads… it deserves that app hype. There’s so much to this app that even I’m still discovering different little sections. The way it is entirely mines to use and post, and nobody is gonna see it unless I SHARE it myself is an added thing for me. Worth the money. Worth everything it has going for it! And the fact the app lets you transfer your Goodreads’s data (which is where I had the issue, my fault) once the file was fully uploaded, the app updated with everything and actually managed to subcategorise all the books I had read since like the beginning… that in itself is pretty incredible. I was IMPRESSED! I was even told that, the app even helps you discover what you read more/faster. Like genre wise and I think, that is coding gold.

Nuff said. I look forward to my future with this application.

thank you for taking the time to write all of this. Sorting your issue within the hour is exactly how I want this to feel: you reach out, we fix it together — that's the whole point of a one-person studio. I'm so glad the private side lands for you too — it's entirely yours, seen by no one unless you choose to share, by design. And that the Goodreads import didn't just carry everything across but sorted your whole reading history into genres for you… that's the kind of detail I quietly sweat over, so "coding gold" is a compliment I'll be riding for a while. One payment, no subscriptions, no add-ons, that's a promise, not a launch tactic. will be FOREVER that way :) Thank you for being here near the start — I'm looking forward to that future right alongside you all.

Highly recommend!

This is the best book tracker I’ve ever used! It has everything a reader could desire, without the social aspect! The one time charge is minimal and worth it for sure.

Response from developer

Thank you — "best I've ever used" is about the highest praise there is, so this genuinely means a lot! The no-social-feed thing is very much on purpose: I wanted somewhere calm and private to track your own reading, not another place to perform it for an audience. And thank you for the support — keeping it a one-time unlock with no subscription matters to me, so I'm really glad it felt worth it. Happy reading!

Good, very customizable

I heard about this app in one of my FB book groups. I decided to download it and give it a try. It’s really unique and so far I like it a lot. It provides a lot of statistics that I haven’t seen from other book tracking apps. Developer seems very open to feedback and recommendations for features.

Response from developer

Thank you for the feedback, I wanted to make the stats actually be useful to the book community and I wanted to make sure that everyone had access at all times. It’s the users that make an app great, so thank you for downloading!

Best book tracking app I’ve had

TAKE. A . BOW.
This is the best book tracking app I’ve EVER had and has everything I could ever want. The fact there are no additional subscriptions and you get everything included is great. The colour customisation, the social media templates! The stats section is beyond belief with standard and then advanced stats. The book covers are great and the discover section is a nice feature. It’s really easy to use and the import of my current library transferred perfectly. True 5 stars 👏💚
