Fun morning ritual

I work these puzzles every morning to wake up. They are challenging but not too difficult and offer a nice variety.

Lexodus is super

If you like word games try this out

Each update is more fun!

These three guys are super clever - these puzzles are fun! And also a lil weird, in a nerdy way. ❤️🥰

Great fun

Look forward to playing everyday!

Cute and fun!

I get a kick out of the puns and ironic word play. Clever and fun!

Ad hell

These puzzles are decent fun, but recently the unpaid ad version has turned into a whack-a-mole labyrinth of ads. Watch an ad and wait for a close “x” only to be sent to another, and another and another. Having to click through five ads, being bounced back and forth to the App store isn’t a motivation to pay a subscription fee. It’s a motivation to delete the app. Puzzle games used to be worth paying a few dollars but never a subscription fee; which has become the norm for too many apps that do not offer value for ongoing payments. And the insulting parade of ads makes it unworthy of being free or paid.

6/9/26 update:

After several app updates and ample opportunity to fix the issues described above, the difficulty in exiting mandatory ad pop-ups persists. I have had to quit the game because of ad pop-ups that play and never present a close icon to continue using the app. A clear disincentive for purchasing or using this app. Trust me, “Ad Prison” isn’t likely to win “Game Of The Year “.

Thanks for reporting this. This review describes an older version of the app. Since June 9, I’ve released seven updates and made substantial changes to the ad experience, including removing the ad networks responsible for that behavior. I’ve also continued adding new puzzles and features, including Nurikabe and new daily puzzle content. -Eric

I'm really sorry about that. I'm actively reviewing the ads being shown, getting rid of whack-a-mole ads, and reducing how often they appear, because I want Ultimate Puzzles to feel fair and enjoyable, not irritating.

ADDICTIVE!!!!!

Super fun. This one is super playable.

Response from developer

Thanks! I'm so glad you like Ultimate Puzzles. Aaron, Dave, and I are busy making new games for it and new daily puzzles. It's really nice to hear from users like you.

Fun stuff!

I’m a daily user of NYT games and a newcomer to MinuteCryptic…Eric’s puzzles completes a very satisfying trifecta of things-to-do-when-I-ought-to-be-doing something more worthwhile with my time…but instead I choose to amuse myself with wordplay! Just completed today’s daily puzzles at the end of a long workday while i was eating dinner. Nice clean interface and entertaining puzzles!

Thanks for the nice review and for including Ultimate Puzzles in your day, with those other fantastic puzzle games

Super fun new word games

A nice change-up from the NYT usuals. Easy to learn and hard to put down!

Response from developer

Thanks! We've got a logic puzzle, Nurikabe, now too - and some more surprises coming soon

Move over Wordle!

Clever puzzles. Love a daily challenge and the little a-ha when I figure out a tricky one.

Clean interface with a lot of attention to making it quick and easy to play.

Just the right size for me to zip through over my morning coffee and a big archive if you need more!

Response from developer

LOL - I don't think we can compete with Wordle, but thanks for the very nice review.

Play More Puzzles!!

Happy to see more Eric Snider puzzles and games. He always has interesting puzzles that are thought provoking. Love the idea of a “daily” puzzle as well.

Response from developer

Thanks for the kind words! I try to make things fun and easy to play. I love working with Dave Arnott and Aaron Weissblum on Ultimate Puzzles – we're still trying to reach more people, but it's my favorite game I've worked on. (Although I have some great memories of working on Ultimate Solitaire!)

Loved it

I’m usually not one to play games on my phone, but I really enjoyed this game!!! My husband and I like to play it together. Definitely give it a go!

Like picking blueberries...

Just one more! Nice gameplay, simple clear appealing graphics. The variety of games is great, each session is a little bit different. Try it!

Response from developer

Thanks for the nice review. We're still adding more kinds of puzzles and I hope you like them just as much.

Lexodus is the best!

I find myself playing Lexodus often. Super fun!

Response from developer

Thanks for the nice review – Lexodus is our most popular game in Ultimate Puzzles, but Nurikabe is getting kind of popular now, too...

Great quick fun!

Perfect little game for exercising your brain when you have a few moments. Delightful graphics, animation, and sound. Simple puzzles to learn but surprisingly deep once you really get into it. Elegant hints system. Feature request: A way to easily share my success on a daily puzzle with my friends and family via text.
