THE APRON NOW SHOWS WHICH WAY THE WORK IS GOING A truck on a stand tells you an operation is running. It cannot tell you which way it is going, because boarding and disembarking use the same bridge and loading and unloading use the same belt. Now arrows do: • Along the jet bridge, towards the aircraft while passengers board, away from it while they come off. • Across the apron, into the hold while it is loaded and out of it while it is emptied. • The tanker is parked under the wing with its hose connected while fuelling runs. Touch an aircraft and the ring under it tells you which one you picked, in the colour its departure is worth. Flight numbers are written above the aircraft they belong to. YOUR OWN PROCEDURES, ON THE AIRCRAFT Import the PDFs your station works to. They are copied onto the phone, so they open on the stand at night with no signal, and nothing expires. • Search the text, and mark the page you will need again. • A procedure reopens where you stopped reading. • Tie a procedure to the operations it covers, and it appears on the flight file right where the question comes up — on the fuelling row, on the loading row, on whichever rows you chose. As always: nothing is invented. An operation nobody stamped puts nothing on the apron.
