Escapement is a reference clock for setting a mechanical watch precisely. A full seconds hand sweeps a clean dial. Hack your watch, wait for the minute, push the crown back in. A SIGNAL ON THE MINUTE Watching the screen while you hold a crown is awkward. Turn on the minute signal and Escapement ticks through the last five seconds, then marks the exact minute with a distinct cue, as a haptic pulse or a soft tone. You can look at the watch instead of the phone. THE SCREEN STAYS AWAKE No dimming halfway through a sync. While the clock is open the display stays on. MOONPHASE A photoreal moon rendered from NASA elevation and albedo maps, showing tonight's phase with real terminator shadows. It gives you an accurate disc to set a moonphase complication against, and tells you when not to touch the corrector. PRIVACY There is no account and no analytics, and the app makes no network requests. Escapement reads your device clock, which iOS already keeps synchronised, and computes the moonphase locally.
