About
Block spam calls and send scam texts straight to the Junk folder. Escudo uses a community database of reported numbers that updates by itself, and it keeps working offline from the last list it downloaded.
HOW IT WORKS
• Call blocking: numbers confirmed as spam by several people are blocked by iPhone itself.
• Caller ID: suspicious numbers show a label on the call screen, such as “Possible scam” or “Telemarketing”.
• Text filter: messages from unknown senders that are in the database, or that look like a scam (a link plus urgency, prizes, payments or package fees), go to the Junk folder. The text check runs on the device.
• Reporting: report a number in the app, or right from Recents in the Phone app and from Messages. When several people report the same number, it joins the database for everyone.
YOU ARE IN CONTROL
• Choose to block, identify only, or turn the database off.
• Your own blocked list and your always-allowed list (bank, clinic, school) take priority over the database.
• Pick the database countries: Brazil (+55) and the United States (+1).
PRIVACY
• No account, no ads, no tracking.
• Escudo does not read your contacts or your call history. Your own number is never sent.
• A report sends only the reported number, its category and an anonymous device ID.
