Fabulous

I love esquire as simple as that informative stylist and totally fashionable

Is Expired a more apt title than Esquire?

I bought a subscription to Esquire and then downloaded the app. It says I am signed in to my subscription but when I try to read anything it asks me to buy a subscription!

Also a significant number of the articles rely heavily on photos that are ‘no longer available’. I’m assuming that Esquire bought a limited licence for their use which has now expired but the articles are pointless without them. I’m not sure what I’m getting for my money?

Fabulous

I love esquire as simple as that .

Appalling

Even after two conversations with customer services, it still wouldn’t let me download my subscription without a new charge.

Beware customer services will make it difficult to get your money back.

Crashing App!!

Although the content of the digital version has excellent features, the app itself crashes every 30 seconds or so. I have to open it up several time while viewing content or attempting to read an article. I’m not sure if I should delete the app and try again or something else. Your instructions on this matter will be highly appreciated…

Good publication but photo quality is grainy at best on iPad

As above

Good

But could be better! Request one is to provide full screen view - magazine only, not the red toolbar all the time.

Disgraceful

So many problems with this app. Orientation works poorly, can’t zoom in, need to log out and log back in every month for it to recognise my subscription, and worst of all it’s compressed to the hilt so text and images are grainy. Horrific. Won’t be renewing.

Content good delivery poor

Decent magazine but why does the digital version arrive a week later than the paper magazine arrives in newsagents? And when will the Big Black Book arrive at all?

Esquire App

Great app from a great magazine.

App needs some work

Images are over compressed, top menu bar is always showing on top of content, oh and I have to log out every month to then re log in to get my subscription to work. For a style magazine this isn't a very stylish app.

App problems

The app stopped working 3 months into my subscription. Hearst couldn't help me as I bought it via iTunes and they cannot access my details. Apple support couldn't help me as its's a third party app. They offered to cancel and refund, then 30 seconds later said they couldn't as the subscription was too old. (They sent me 3 credits for 3 film rentals instead, which is a nice gesture, but not really what I wanted). Shame, I really liked the magazine as well.

I gave up

A combination of the recent undesirable app update, the cancellation of my app and print subscription by Hearst and the 'couldn't care less' attitude of their helpline has led me to just give up. It's not a bad read but it certainly isn't worth the hassle.

New Releases Missing

Neither the Feb or March versions have loaded. They're just not showing as an option to download. I've re-installed the app and still nothing. Not a lot was spent so not bothered really, but poor show Hearst!

Disgraceful!

It's appalling that with your update you stole from us what we previously paid for. Is that what you think of us? Until you rectify your mistake I will never buy a magazine from you again, online or off the shelf. Shame on you!

A great read

I discovered Esquire magazine on December 2009. It was Christmas and somehow the family had forgotten all about me. They had also forgotten about a bottle of whiskey that was close by and I gotta say, this is the most decadent and relaxing read (and drink) I can ever recall. Since that day I have always looked at Esquire with a 'not to be mentioned outside of Vegas' attitude, and with a sparkle in my eye. I still regularly read it, and I have no problem with the magazine in digital or hard copy form. So, Esquire Christmas 2009 - a man moment to always remember

Paid for issues aren't available

I've been a subscriber for years. I have lost all but the 2016 issues. Their response is that they are no longer available after the app upgrade. This is NOT acceptable. I paid for them and I want them back. They should make them available to subscribers as a PDF download or in a stand alone archive app at the very least if they can't bother to figure out how to make them available in app (which every other app manages to do after an upgrade). They have no appreciation for their subscribers.

Missing issues I paid for

My app disappeared, reloaded, restored purchases and nothing. Andd it has some nonsense about an upgrade and only 12 months available. I paid for those. I want all my money back

Reading on iPhone

Content is still great, but new version makes reading extremely hard. Zooming in with double tap doesn't work on iPhone, and pinch zoom cuts words in half if you zoom over their boundary. Much preferred reading on the old version.
