What a load of crap! I picked up the developer kit as a entry finalist at a hackathon as an sdk developer in London in 2015 and to this day the app refuses to connect to the beacons before crashing to the Home Screen on Apple. It’s unable to showcase any of the app device features, the cloud says I apparently don’t own the beacons -pending patent. Surprised the batteries still are running 5 years later. Is this device even legal to broadcast in this way with the app?

Good looking hardware, very poor software
I have been disappointed with their beacon management software. While the earlier cloud based management — though recalcitrant — worked after a hope and a prayer, this thing just doesn’t work. It doesn’t pick-up the beacons, despite the beacon showing up on the Estimote app, and the Pally bluetooth scanner they recommend on their forums.
It’s a pity. Their hardware continues to look and feel better than most. But that is useless if the software falls flat on its face.

Do not use estimote for customer deployments.
You'll waste days of time trying to get beacons configured. None of their apps work reliably. This app cannot pick up the beacons during its scan.
