Very good

God is good

Undistracted and deep

This bible app has a great smooth and focused reading experience with no distractions, and I love being able to highlight and note things as well as the references to other scriptures and the library resources. I am so thankful for this app.

The subscription

Keeps losing its place…

Every time you listen the audio moves on but the text doesn’t always follow.
When you stop and restart the audio returns to where the text was originally and mot the updated location.
It’s annoying and prevents reliable use of the app.
As someone who uses this function for …several hours… every day… this problem is the central reason for using Logos and Audible instead.

Pretty good app, but...

I’ve had this app several years and like it for the most part. When I first got it, the phone could be turned horizontal and the print would be larger which is great for those with vision impairment, especially when airplayed on our large screen TV.
But after one of the updates it will only stay in vertical mode and it is much harder to see.

I do not like this format. I want simple, easy to find scripture. I want a Bible with a table of contents that shows all books of the Bible. On any given minute of time, I want to select any scripture OF MY CHOICE , read then choose any other at any time unrelated to what I read earlier.

Great app, small suggestion

Great app overall. The one thing missing that would be great is a Home Screen widget that allows you to choose a verse to display. I know they say you should never read only one verse without the context, but it would be nice to display a memory verse on my Home Screen so I see it all the time.

Outstanding resource. Copy-paste could use a tweak.

Outstanding resource. Use it almost every day. The fineness of its translation (I have worked extensively with Greek and can confirm, an MDiv and a ThM in exegetical theology). The search function is outstanding and simple. I use it often when knowing a verse but struggling to remember where it is found. Also just the look throughout is subtle and elegant to my eyes. It is crisp, easy and user-friendly.

I would personally reformat a couple very minor things for a regular user, like the copy-paste function which puts the verse reference first and even the non-inspired section title into the paste (why?) before pasting the words. It’d be much easier to simply paste the verse words, with reference on its tail, like this: “Jesus wept” (John 11:35). The current way makes it hard to copy-paste into texts for encouragement and social media. Every single time I copy-paste I have to edit it.

Aside from that, an outstanding resource. I use it almost every single day. “Forever, o Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.” Psalm 119:89.

Great Bible app

Amazing app for Bible studying. Very clear, very easy, very powerful.

Love it but can be improved

I have been using this app for over a decade. It’s my go to Bible app. However, I wish I could use the language tools I have access to via the web version right in this app. Additionally, at some point a change was made to perhaps fetch the text as you scroll and that makes the scrolling feel a little odd. When that change was made the experience deteriorated. These are the two things that I constantly wish were better.

Paid Content on a Bible App

Came back after a long hiatus to listen to Kristyn Getty read Roman’s 8. I had that chapter memorized at one point thank la to listening to her read it. Now it’s under a paywall as well as other content. Absolute greed. Deleting this app from my devices.

Own nothing, rent everything

You cannot purchase the premium books in this app. You must rent them with eternal subscription. The app has a beautiful reading layout, easy to navigate, and free for the bible alone. But there are dozens of similar free apps.

I would like to purchase the premium study materials. I am not willing to pay a subscription to continually “rent” a book. I’m opposed to the subscription philosophy so prevalent among developers. If they would like to keep making money, they can create new content.

If you want to own your books, Logos is still a good choice (though they very much prefer that you subscribe). Uninstalling.

Great app!

Well done! I’ve used many bible apps but this one really is classy, easy to use and has great built in features.

Awesome app

We like the app very much love the ease of listening to the word of GOD and JESUS Old Testament has to come with the New Testament

The Bible

Amazing it is just awesome to be in the word on a device and to know it is accurate.

Great app. One suggestion

I absolutely love this app and use it all the time for audio and referencing the resources in the library. One suggestion I have would be to add a Home Screen widget for verse of the day.
