So much potential
So - basically a good rogue game with interesting powers and skills. BUT it is mind numbingly boring to sit through the ads you have to watch to get adequate rewards. I would gladly buy the game to get out of this trap. Too bad!
Updated
I played this game in and off for years, one of the absolute best games on mobile, or WAS. It’s been so long I can’t remember if this was a paid app or a free app, but what I DO remember is that there were no pop up ads outside of the banner at the top.
NOW the entire game is filled with them! Every single dungeon completion is a 30 second ad! And you have the “option” to skip the add however that button just takes me straight to it. What happened!?
I get if you guys need the money, I want to see continued development for this game just as much as the next person, but for the love of everything give us a purchase button to make that go away! I’d shell out 5$ just to have my old non intrusive game back

Bummer (ads)
Could have been a great Shiren-like… if not for the pay to win / watch ads to win aspects. You cannot pay to remove the permanent ad banner either.

Good but unbalanced
This is a fun little Rougelike in the same vein as the Mystery Dungeon games. But it gets kind of unbalanced (90% in the player’s favor, except certain special challenges, but see ranged combat) fairly quickly, and especially once pets are unlocked.
Ranged combat is incredibly broken on both sides because thrown items, monster ranged attacks, and damaging Rods completely ignore regular Defense (as do damaging Scrolls, but those are AoE rather than missile attacks). And monster ranged attacks scale quickly with their level (fixed damage equal to a multiple of attacker’s level, with the multiplier usually being 5x, 10x, or 20x, with a few 30x… and Minotaurs get a whopping 45x!). BUT, monsters only shoot targets at most three tiles away, while the player has no maximum range, so in late-game sniper duels, that’s advantage: player, especially considering it doesn’t take much Deftness for thrown objects (except Rods and most Grasses, which do other things) to out-damage melee attacks against heavily armored foes. Hilariously, while late-game tanks like Dark Wyverns can shrug off slashes and thrusts from weapons worthy of the gods, they’re easily one-shotted by boomerangs, shurikens, stones, or even a spare loaf of bread! (Thrown items are destroyed if they hit a monster, though, so don’t fling something you have a better use for!)
Pets also become broken quite easily, although the dungeon that contains the Meat required to bring them along is moderately difficult and has a nasty surprise on the first floor containing any (and then turns brutally hard, so bring a Scroll of Escape). A decent bruiser monster that gains a few levels will steamroll most wild ones, and they retain full access to their special abilities too (and will even sometimes use their ranged attacks point-blank, while wild ones always prefer melee). And you even get nearly full benefits of your pet’s kills (full EXP, and Skill Power once you unlock Skills, but no Proficiency points). Also, they aren’t reset to level one when running dungeons in Hard Mode, which is just as abusable as it sounds.

Awesome little game
Awesome game, hope developers continue you update, and/or, make an eternal rogue II! Great work!
Good idle rogue game
Enjoyable little game. Good for hours of fun. Still crashes often, but save feature is so good it's not a big deal. Gets updated frequently so bugs do get fixed
Let me pay to remove ads
Please 🙏
Nice mystery dungeon game
I love mystery dungeon games so this is great.
Updated review
Writing a new review after a year, thought the game was abandoned while missing a lot of features. Came back after a year to find this is now a complete game, and I have no issue saying this is now the perfect rogue-lite and easily the best one available on iOS, might even be better than on any system. No idea how or why this game has not gotten the recognition it deserves

Good game could be better
I have really enjoyed playing this game but the game physics fail hard when I cannot attack around a corner while the monsters can attack me. That is lame. Please fix it.
Permanent ad banner
Permanent ad banner in game with no way to remove it - instant uninstall
What I was looking for
Smooth gameplay. Classic feel. Been playing a while and have not encountered a single glitch. Looks like it updates regularly and has new features waiting to release.
I cannot wait until the release to do with monster raising is out!

I really like this game
I just wish there was a way to buy it without the banner ads on top. I like the optional ads for rewards only. Please consider adding an iap for removal of non optional ads or paid version.
Excellent game, great value
When you scour the app store in search of a solid rpg game, it's rate that one stumbles upon such a gem. For freeware, the balance of ads to gameplay is very reasonable. A lot of replay value for such a game. Also, the gameplay is engaging, but not frantic like many recent ADHD-fuel special effect spazzfest mobile games. The combat system is well designed and the gameplay loop is simple, relentless and satisfying.
Must try!

Love this game
It’s NOT pay to win; ads are short; it’s free; and fun. Can’t wait until the next update!
Lord, Please - by the 9!
Is this Torneko’s Mystery Dungeon by any other name? Seriously though, give me One Way Heroics meets Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, and let me check the App(le) Store every 12 hours for the update that finally allows us to bring a monster along into the dungeon - the actual sole reason I pre-ordered this game!
I’m ready for more story chapters and new job grades - not to mention potentially more attributes, skills, and abilities to individualize/specialize classes.
I dunno what you have en route, but I have been recommending this app to my friends as I see them and am excited to see any improvements whatsoever!! <3
Heard offline play is underrated~

Instant favorite
This is one of favorite iOS games - been playing various games for eight years on iPhones and this is one of my faves.
Please keep developing it - it’s a great game.

Charming little game
Dunegon based and I can see much more features will be added in the future I love this game. Auto saving is perfect.
Fun game but lots of missing functionality currently.
I’ve got monsters and I can feed them, but can’t take them on quests? There’s a stamina system that prevents me from doing dungeons, but there’s no way I can pay for more stamina with mtx? Fun game, level 33 at the moment. Can’t wait for 2.0.
