About

Ethical Eaters shows you what a restaurant is actually serving: where the meat, dairy, eggs and seafood come from, how the animals were raised, and what is real versus marketing. "Farm-to-table" has no legal definition. Anyone can print it on a menu. If you care how animals are treated, you have had no way to tell who is telling the truth. This app is that way. HOW IT WORKS • The map opens where you are, so nearby places come first. Tap a pin for the report. • Search our reports by name before you book. • A report says how the animals behind that menu were raised, names the suppliers and certifications we could verify, and says plainly where we could not. • Scan a menu with the camera, or share a delivery or booking screenshot into the app, and get a report on that place. • Save the places worth going back to in one list on your Profile. • Turn on a ping and we tell you the moment a fresh report lands. WHAT WE LOOK AT Animal products only: meat, dairy, eggs and seafood, and how the animals were raised. The report doesn't count nutrients, flag allergens or cover vegetables. WHO PAYS FOR THIS Nobody pays us to change what you see. The ratings answer to you, not to a sponsor. Membership is a yearly subscription with a free trial, and it funds the work that puts humane farms and independent restaurants in front of people who care. We never sell your data. Reports are written by our system from public sources and the restaurant's own stated sourcing. When we cannot verify a claim, the report says so instead of guessing. Questions: support@ethicaleatersapp.com Privacy Policy: https://ethicaleatersapp.com/privacy Terms of Use: https://ethicaleatersapp.com/terms-and-use Ever wonder why it matters how the animals were raised? Pack enough animals into one barn and disease shows up more often, so confinement farms lean on antibiotics, and public health agencies have tracked the resistant bacteria that result, in the animals and on the meat. Recent research is also starting to suggest that grass-finished beef and pastured eggs carry more omega-3 fats and vitamin E than grain-fed and caged versions. Ethical Eaters reports how the animals behind a menu were raised (it never tests the food or counts nutrients), so you can pick a place before you book.
