About

Start a drive, end it when you arrive, and get a 0–100 efficiency score that allows for your car, the weather and the trip. LIVE DRIVES Tap Start drive and put the phone away. The app measures the distance with GPS, also with the phone locked or another app open, and shows the running drive on the Lock Screen and, on iPhones that have one, in the Dynamic Island. When you arrive, tap End drive and photograph your car's trip screen: the app reads the energy, distance, efficiency, duration and average speed, and you check them before saving. No photo? Type the values in. No signal where you park? Start the drive anyway; it syncs when you are back online. A SCORE THAT MEANS SOMETHING Raw kWh/100 km says little on its own: a cold morning, a short errand or a bigger car all push it up, and none of that is your driving. EV Drive Sessions works out what your car should have used in those conditions (its WLTP figure, adjusted for temperature, trip type and distance) and scores your drive against that: a 0–100 score you can compare across EVs, weather and seasons. It works from your first drive, with or without other drivers. In the US the result also shows your car's EPA rating. ONE DRIVE MEANS ONE DRIVE Before you set off, the app reminds you to reset the trip counter. If you didn't, it asks which number on the screen belongs to this drive. KM OR MILES Units follow your region (miles in the US and UK, kilometers elsewhere) and can be changed in Profile. Trip screens are read in either unit. CONTEXT FILLED IN FOR YOU The app fills in the city and the outside temperature. Only the city and an approximate area a few kilometers across are saved, never exact coordinates. Your drive's route stays on your phone only, encrypted, and is never uploaded; you can turn route keeping off in Profile. COMPARE WITH OTHER DRIVERS Share a drive to the public comparisons if you want to. The Community tab ranks shared drives by score, so cars compete on driving alone, and compares drivers of your car in your area and worldwide once enough drives are shared. On public boards you appear under an automatic alias such as "Driver 4821", or a nickname you choose; your real name is never shown. BADGES AND MONTHLY CHALLENGES Badges in seven categories, and new challenges every month. ON YOUR HOME SCREEN Widgets show your last drive and your last 7 days. IN THE CAR With CarPlay, start and end a drive from the car's screen and see the elapsed time and distance. Nothing to read while you drive. SHARE A DRIVE Turn a drive into an image or a short video for any app. The default card shows no map and no location; an optional route or map card draws your route on the phone with its start and end hidden. PRIVACY Trip screen photos are private: only you can open them, and they are never published. Sharing to public comparisons is opt-in, and a drive shared there carries no photo, email address, route or exact location. You can export your data or delete your account in the app; deletion removes your drives, cars and photos. Photo reading uses OpenAI; you can always type the values in instead. Sign in with Apple or Google is required, because your drives, cars and scores are stored to your account. EV Drive Sessions is not affiliated with any vehicle maker; make and model names only identify your car.

What's New in EV Drive Sessions

1.0.1

October 30, 2026

Typing a drive in is easier: enter the energy used or your average consumption, plus the duration. The city filter in Community can be cleared again. A clearer message, with the time, when the daily photo-reading limit is reached. And other fixes.
