About
EverHeard turns the speech and sounds around you into something you can see — in real time, processed on your device.
Built for people who are Deaf or hard of hearing, EverHeard captions live conversation and flags the sounds that matter — a doorbell, an alarm, a knock, your name — so you can follow the room and stay aware of your surroundings.
WHAT IT DOES
• Live captions of speech as it's spoken, in multiple languages, detected automatically.
• Sound alerts for a doorbell, alarm, knock and more — on screen, with a flash for important sounds like alarms and alerts, and haptics on devices that support them.
• Save conversation history on your device — date, time, the caption text and who said each line when known (never audio). Off by default; turn it on in Settings.
• Color-coded speakers, with your own voice labeled "You" — experimental, on iPhone, iPad and Mac. When EverHeard isn't sure who spoke, the line stays uncolored.
• On Mac, a floating caption bar that stays visible over any app.
• Works on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with an Apple Watch companion for alerts.
OPTIONAL: TRANSLATE TO ENGLISH
Captions always appear in the language spoken. If you choose, EverHeard can also translate speech to English — only when you turn it on.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
EverHeard processes everything on your device. No account is needed, and EverHeard is designed so your conversations are never sent to us. Saved conversations are caption text, never audio recordings, and they stay on your device unless you choose to share them. It works offline after a one-time download of the speech model. If you teach EverHeard your voice, its fingerprint is stored only on your device — you can remove it anytime.
OUR COMMITMENT
EverHeard is built on the latest on-device models, and our commitment is to keep improving it to get as close to never confidently wrong as possible — when it isn't sure, it should say so rather than guess. It's the focus of our ongoing research, and every update brings us closer. Tell us where it slips at support@everheard.app.
FREE
EverHeard is free, and our goal is to keep it free for the people who need it.
PLEASE NOTE
EverHeard is an accessibility aid, not a medical or safety device. It can miss or mislabel words and sounds, so don't rely on it alone for safety — keep your smoke alarms and other alerts in place.
