What’s with being limited to playing a games once per day???
Ohhhh so close. I like the layout and appearance of the app and the games within the app. But when it comes to actual game play… Well, I like to play Cryptogram and when I go to play a 2nd game, it just shows me the score of the 1st game I played… no option to play a new game? Why? Also… why does the app make such a big deal when I do anything!?!? I don’t need fireworks or whatever every time I finish a game. To me, it feels sycophantic and kinda gross tbh. Please set the games free and lose the fireworks.

Hey devs, if I’m hitting share on the results page of a puzzle, why would I want to share a vague description of the game I’m playing and my streak, but not the score of the game I just played? Let’s talk to some users and find out their expectations.
Very US-centric
Fun app for filling in time, nice range of games. My only criticism is that some of the crossword clues and some of the words used in the puzzles are completely impossible if you’re not American. I’m looking at you, today’s Cryotogram!
No UK puzzles & poor Pencil support
While I enjoy the app itself, I do not enjoy that so many of the puzzles for UK users are the US version. I downloaded and checked the “free” ad-supported version of this game and it has UK versions for the puzzles. With almost entirely the same puzzles included in this version of the game, I don’t understand why UK users are seeing the US puzzles - surely the arcade version is supposed the be the better version of the app, and certainly not significantly worse? Is this going to be fixed, the replies to other reviews are very non-committal on this topic? I do prefer the + version when it comes to the UI though.
I have also had problems trying to use the app with the Apple Pencil - the buttons respond to the pencil but the puzzles themselves do not, which makes it unusable to play with using the pencil. I use my pencil to help with a health issue when operating my iPad so this is an accessibility issue. I did try emailing support but got no reply.

Far too American
Some nice games but far too American. I wish under language settings we could switch language to British. The clues require understanding of American culture, celebrities and sports, and the answers are too often American words (like eggplant) or spelling, which just adds another barrier. That’s too frustrating.

Won’t open
I love the free version of this game and was beyond excited to learn there is an Apple Arcade version with no ads. I have tried downloading the game multiple times and have tried to restart it multiple times, but I never get past the black screen with fanatee displayed on it. I think if this problem can be resolved it will be my favorite app.

Clearly AI generated as answers often don’t make sense
For the Secret Word game, the category was Pizza Toppings. The answer? Eggplant.
I know people put a lot of weird things on pizza, but in a word game, eggplant isn’t even on the list of words I would have guessed.
If it was a trivia game and the question was about unusual pizza toppings that are popular in some specific country, maybe eggplant would make sense.

I’ll stick with the paid version!
I started playing Everyday Puzzles a few months ago and enjoyed it so much that I paid to get the adverts removed. Within a week of doing that the Arcade version was announced. “Typical!” I thought. But the Arcade version is almost unplayable if you aren’t American or prepared to Google everything.
Despite having the country set to United Kingdom, there are loads of questions where the answers are spelt incorrectly or refer to shows or sports only played over there. The original version is great, this version is awful.

Wow. Bad. What’s offline mode?
Using the app is sluggish and laggy. Especially scrolling through the list or games or looking through missions feels like the game is running at 5 fps. Also, what’s the point of offline mode if you can’t even play the game while it’s on? Immediately deleted the game after realizing this. What a strange little game

Missing puzzles from non arcade game
Love the game! But it looks like the Apple Arcade version is missing puzzles in the in app purchase version, wish we had all the puzzles! Will change to 5 stars once we do

Nice daily puzzle fix, I hope it continues to improve
I like the format, the variety of puzzle types and the progression system. The game has frozen more than once, but thankfully only between loading screens and I’ve never lost any progress. Yet.
I echo the frustrations with US centric culture questions, some of which I can take an educated guess, others I’m not sure I even understand the question.
Please, please, please give us a landscape format option 🙏 I do most of my casual gaming on an iPad and there’s nothing worse than vertical format only.
Update: after playing for a couple of weeks I am officially fed up of 3-letter country codes, currency codes and the initials of random D-listers in the crosswords. It’s lazy and crass. My time here is over.

Why?
I love everyday puzzles and I was really excited to find that it was added to Apple Arcade. My biggest complaint, however, is that high contrast is something you can turn off and on with a switch in the free version. So, why is it not available in this one??? It tells me to turn it on in my device settings. Homie I don’t want to change my whole device, just in the game to reduce eye strain.
I always use dark mode for everything, and even still sudoku is a little hard on the eyes. Different color palette options would be nice, or even just the ability to choose how the app looks. Like a create your own color palette, maybe. So, instead of green and yellow I could choose blue and purple, something other than white for everything else, and maybe even tan or lighter grey tones for the background, for example. That way people can find what works best for their eyes.
Other than that, great app. No other notes.
