The problem is the default setting that shows GARBAGE we don’t want to see. The default setting looks like a map that somone poured M&Ms all over. Each time I use the app I have to filter out the “M&Ms” I care nothing about, such as Walgreens stores that have charging stations for customers, or Sam’s Club, ete, etc, etc. Requiring a user to ALWAYS TURN OFF filters for chargers that are NOT AT HOTELS is why this app doesn’t deserve a 5 star rating.

As there are many more charging stations available now relative to when this app was released a few years back, we will soon be releasing a new version with an updated map key concept. Thank you for your suggestion. We had considered this in the past but will revisit it in response to your request. What we have implemented currently is a visual representation of the range of your vehicle on the map. Go to 'Filters' / 'Range Circle Settings' - and set your comfortable driving range - then go back to the main page 'Find Hotel' and tap 'Drive Range'. This will place a circle on the map with your custom range so you will be able to see all the EVHotel chargers within your driving range setting. Hope this helps for now. Thanks again!

Hello - We appreciate your feedback. The persistent legend is customizable by tapping the type of chargers you wish to see (or not see). If you wish to see only hotels that have chargers, tap all the legend items off until only the green 'EV Hotels' remain. We include other chargers in our app as well in case there is not a hotel with a charger in your desired location. In that case, tap on the yellow 'Walk to Hotel' in the legend so you can find a hotel with an unaffiliated public charger within walking distance. We also have videos to help new users familiarize themselves with helpful app details. Hope this helps. Clicking the link brought up Welcome Break, Frogmore, Folkestone. Checking availability offered a selection of hotels around London!
Googled Welcome Break - they don’t list any hotel near Frogmore, Folkestone.

Thank you for your detailed comments and the opportunity to address your two issues. Regarding the Welcome Break location, we incorporated a new algorithm into our latest Version 1.9 to eliminate motorway service locations that do not have hotels on-site. We have also requested directly with Apple to add similar algorithms to the Maps application. For the second issue regarding the quantity of hotels that offer EV Charging, we also would like to see more EV Hotels, but unfortunately, there are some 'dead zones' where charging facilities are not yet offered. We regularly encourage our favorite hotels to install charging facilities and would appreciate others to do so as well. We hope you will give the EVHotels App another try with Version 1.9. Thank you!

Thank you very much for your feedback. Please ensure you are using the latest Version 1.8 as indicated on the ‘Help’ tab at the bottom of the screen. We regularly receive feedback through the several available contact options listed on this Help tab screen. Regarding the hotels, occasionally, they merge and/or change ownership. We would be happy to update any Hotel references you send. We continue to grow our listings from several sources while giving users the opportunity to directly edit and add to the list based upon local knowledge using the 'Add Charger' tab. We will continue to release updated versions expanding upon our database of 22,000 hotels worldwide with EV charging facilities. Thank you!
Good idea needs work
The main thing that needs improvement is that when I activate filters that those filters are saved for future sessions. Every time I reopen the app I have to toggle on and off the filters again. I.e. I want to see only hotels with chargers.
A more complicated request would be that booking rooms for the hotels should me much easier. Right now I can click on “Reserve a room” button and it forwards me to the website of the hotel. But more often then not it leads me to the generic Hilton website but not that specific Gilton hotel that I clicked on. Often the links are dead as well. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much for your feedback, especially regarding the links to the hotels. Occasionally, the hotels update their links after mergers with other chains or a complete change of ownership. Some chains want to take you directly to their main website for booking and do not provide links to the specific locations. We continue to scrub the hotel links regularly. Regarding the filters, we can take your requirement to retain your preferences in the map legend on each session. We debated this feature in the past as some like to have access to all the map data on each new session. We will add your comment as a new feature request for the next version. Thank you!

The time it takes to change filters and preferences has recently been reduced. We have also added feedback on the screen indicating approximately how long to wait for your changes to take effect. Some filter changes finish immediately and others take more time. Thank you very much for your feedback.

This is a joke, right?
#1. It’s frustrating to wade through the various “droplets” showing hotels that DO NOT have charging stations. Take this feature out PERMANENTLY. We already have apps that we use just for hotels. EV owners would prefer to open this map in a city showing only those hotels having a charging stations.
#2. Tesla owners already have apps showing where all the Supercharging stations are. Dump the Tesla “M&M” droplets and simplify your map.
The app is useless and burdensome for my and other EV owners because it is overkill showing ALL hotels that do not have chargers!
I’m deleting this app and going with something that better fits my needs for finding EV friendly hotels ONLY and not every Motel 6 on the planet, not a single one in the world having a single EV charger.
A great app to assist with planning an EV road trip
Well done EV Hotels, keep up the good work, I hope this becomes the ‘go-to app’ for EV tourists globally
Great filtering capability
