What happened to my EVO!?

Recently, EVO changed from an interactive version to a .pdf version without warning. Issue 275 was the last proper one, is this only happening to me? Table of contents only lists page numbers and the articles are only viewed in a single page view so one has to swipe in order to turn the page rather than scroll up/down as was the norm? Subscription price stayed the same but the experience is now so poor I may decide to cancel and go back to paper annoyingly. Please bring back the EVO Interactive experience!
More recently, I seem to have lost access to all my back issues and emails have not resulted in any help. The best mag with a worsening experience…

New version 2023

At LAST!!! Landscape mode is available! Yes!!!
This finally allows ipad subscribers to enjoy the beautiful double spread photos just as the hard copy folk do.
The pages feature enabling quick preview access through the edition is another very worthwhile improvement.
I’ve been a reader or subscriber in hard copy or electronic form since Issue One and now I’m as delighted with the format as I always have been with the content.

Old issues gone?

With version 4.7(16073) the access to old issues seems to have disappeared. Very disappointing!

I love the hardback version of, but I'm paying for this Evo app that will not open. Maybe the developers need to make it compatible with IOS 17

Great journalism ruined by dreadful app

About a year ago this was optimised for tablets and IOS. Now it’s a pitiful, badly rendered PDF file. Why oh why did you roll back the well presented digital version to this cheap rubbish? I think I may have answered my own question there… Such a shame.

User interface really ruins experiences

They need to work on reader itself. How the reader format is so far behind makes the subscription not worthy at all.
I gave them multiple years support expecting they will improve.

I was so wrong.

You are too lazy to improve application for the readers and this shows how little you care about readers. Today, I canceled my subscription.
Don’t charge if you are this lazy and far behind competition.

Simple standard pdf reader is better than you.

Not what I subscribed to...

As a long time reader of EVO, I am very disappointed with the digital format as of issue 276. I subscribed to a magazine, not a poor implementation of a PDF reader. And to the editor and publisher, your failure to communicate this significantly material change to the digital customer experience constitutes malpractice. I will not be renewing my subscription.

Used to be a great app and now gone back to the dark ages!

Bad app, bad customer service, good magazine

Subscribed to a 6 month package, the app then said the autorisation failed and it acted like I hadn’t subscribed. I checked the bank and yes it had been paid, so contacted the magazine, no reply, tweeted them, no reply, emailed again, no reply, contacted the publishers, guess what? No reply. In the end I had to refund it through Apple because their customer service is so terribly bad, I couldn’t get hold of them at all. Really good magazine though, packed with informative articles and some stunning photography, just a shame the app doesn’t work for me and they couldn’t be bothered to answer my questions.

Terrible user experience.

Terrible user experience just a PDF of the mag. Not response content at all. Real shame as the articles are excellent

A horrible reading experience

This is just a pdf reader with each magazine completely left as per the paper version. So you are zooming around trying to read paragraphs instead of it being rendered text. Awful.

Great Read

Since I got my new IPad Pro (12.9”) my ageing eyes are enjoying the digital format even more.

Retrograde step

Insane that this is now a pdf version of the magazine. You can’t skip to a page and have to zoom in on parts of the print that you want. Add in that the app just force closes 30 seconds after opening and you’ve gone from an app that used to be well worth the subscription costs to one that is getting cancelled at the end of the next cycle.

App keeps crashing

App keeps crashing and no real new updates. New magazines are no long interactive but scans (not even good scans) of the actually magaizine. Come on guys at EVO, you can do better than this. I’ve been subscribed for years and years.

Nice app but could be better

Just got the digital subscription for EVO. Favorite car mag. This app is ok, but it would be great if it could display 2 pages when I turn my iPad to landscape. It only shows one page in any orientation. This applies to the magazines that are not optimized for this app.
