CPHQ not CPPS

I used this to prepare for CPPS as the name advertised; however upon reading another commenter’s review, I looked further into CPHQ and after having passed the CPPS exam yesterday can confirm: this app prepares you first CPHQ, not CPPS. There is a lot of overlap in concepts and ideas, but CPHQ gets much further into the weeds of statistical models and analyses. The questions asked in this app seemed retrofitted into CPPS domains. This app prepared me for familiarity with how questions are asked, but I quickly trained myself to look for the response that did not include “always, never, solely, etc.” The CPPS exam is not that transparent. I found the best resource for passing the CPPS exam is Wachter’s Understanding Patient Safety.

Response from developer

Thank you for your detailed feedback, Grass ole, and congratulations on passing the CPPS exam! We understand your concern that some questions felt more aligned with CPHQ concepts, particularly the statistical models and analyses, and we appreciate you highlighting the distinction. Our questions are designed around the official CPPS exam blueprint to build knowledge across its domains, rather than replicate the exact exam questions, but your feedback shows where we can continue improving the CPPS-specific focus of our content. We’ll take your comments into account as we review, update, and expand the app.

Preparing for exam

The app is very good in content. It provides the answers with the rationale. However, the numbers and answers are mismatched when being referred to in the feedback. Overall, I’m very grateful for this app. Will f/u after my exam.
