This is a SOLID GAME!
I avoided EH for a while due to the low rating, but I was interested to start when my wife downloaded it and I watched her go through the first few parts. The animations are gorgeous, the gacha is decent and forgiving, and the story is passable with characters that don’t grow tiresome like a lot of similar games. I’m to understand that it had a rocky history which caused it to receive review bombs, hence the apparently low score, but having played for a bit now I am absolutely convinced that this is a great game that is worth a 4.5~5 rating. Do not let the lingering score fool you, give it a try yourself!!

Clunky beautiful game
Exos heroes is a love hate relationship. I love all the beautifully drawn heroes and their moves. When it works well, the game is honestly not bad. But several huge things really dampen it and prevent it reaching its full potential (1) despite years being out, it’s still a clunky mess of a game with crashes still. Not excusable at this point given how long this game has been out (2) the gacha and currency conversion of materials are truly not worth it. Majority of the items in the store require you to shelve out $50 to even remotely have a chance at getting anything useful. The game needs to chill on this and realize that this is actively killing their player base with a hard stance p2w wall. So much potential and such a shame that it’s wasted.

I never leave reviews on apps because it’s typically a waste of time and there’s plenty of bots overhyping games for no reason. Well, this game deserves a review as it’s free to play to the point that you can still be competitive without spending money, it just takes longer. I’ve had the game for a couple of years, and through free items, weekly arena xes, and daily/weekly xes. I can pull 10s of times on any banner I want without really saving. I also have all of the best fatecores/heroes without having spent money.
The game also has a nice monthly signature hero recruit where you can sign in for a month and receive some of the best heroes in the game just for logging in.
Something else really cool is the work that goes into the skins for heroes (fatecores). They not only change appearance, but actually change the skills a hero uses and have new animations alongside them which is amazing.
Finally, the game regularly has new content and updates so it’s worth giving a shot for the long run, even if you’re F2P.

New mechanics overhaul
-Simplified powering up characters and daily missions.
-Added more of a grinding aspect to getting better gear similar to games like summoners war or Raid shadow legends.
-remade skills for all characters. Good and bad here. I appreciate the attempt at game balance overall. But this has also left some characters kinda useless. For example a tank style character cannot function on a team if all they do is protect themself. They just end up standing there as the rest of the team dies. Abilities like Neomi’s millennial light are the equivalent of skipping her turn. This is in contrast to before when it made it harder for her to be killed and harder for the party to be killed. You can equip an artifact to give her something like share health but she no longer innately helps anyone but herself. Artifacts should allow for strategy and synergy with existing abilities but shouldn't be needed to give a character the basic role they should have had the ability to perform before equipping the artifact
I mostly like the changes as it allows for more customization using artifacts and equipment sets but with the comments section removed the only way i was able to say any of this was to leave a review.
I do like that in general the designers consider other ways to utilize the game to offer different game modes. They did this with the sprite events in the past. Keep trying stuff and add a comments section so we can contribute ideas.

Biggest blunder Iv ever seen
Exos really had something going for it with the fact that it wasn’t just like every other turn based game out there. The fatecore system was fresh and unique, characters were interesting with nice synergy that made team building simple but also fun and interactive. All of that is gone now with this Season 5 “update” as you all basically destroyed your own game and turned it into a bad copy of all the games you were better than before. Fatecores are now just glorified skins with little to no change in abilities or gameplay and the character passives that made syngeries so fun are completely gone and replaced with basic passives that are so generic it’s laughable. And the worst part? You took those passives you stole from us and put them onto something that we have to roll for again, are you kidding me? Your “apology” a day after the update meant nothing because you conveniently ignored the biggest issue had and tried to play it off like you cared and had listened to us when in reality your fake apology was just a spit in the face. I am really disappointed in this company and am saddened by what they did to Exos.

*These Are Not My Heroes Anymore.*
I’m so sad
I don’t recognize any of them, their entire identities were completely removed. The reason I pulled for them in the first place is gone.
.
.
.
I can stomach the gear changes and other annoying things they did that make my year of progress pointless, I can farm again, I’m familiar with the (annoying) gear system from Epic7…
..But they got rid of everything that made the heroes unique.
Their synergy was replaced by 10% stat increases for teammates, their core abilities and passives were stripped and made generic, and they removed their play style ENTIRELY.
I don’t care if a character is meta or OP, but I want my debuff characters to still be centered around DEBUFFS after the update. My evasión units to still have evasion to play with. I want my characters to still FEEL like the characters I loved.
Now I don’t want to re-farm my gear or anything because the heroes I loved and invested in are strangers to me now. They’re not even SIMILAR. And no amount of recalls are going to make up for that.
I’m so sad.
I will admit that the meta was in a bad place before, but this was an out of touch change by the devs, and not the right way to fix that.

Season 5 = Uncertain Future
Interestingly enough, I picked up Exos on a whim from its Day 1 launch and have stuck to it ever since. Much of it was unique compared to other gachas I’ve played, moreso that it’s a 3D game as well. Season 5’s update essentially ripped all that away, seemingly out of nowhere without much hint given by the devs. Everything about combat, characters, and equipment, etc was near completely changed out of the blue to the point of people comparing the “new” Exos to being an E7 clone. Why? We may never know since it was an internal decision done with almost zero feedback from the global playerbase, but let’s see how they’ll add further improvements, or perhaps it is time to put down the game.

Editing to consider Revisions
I am changing my rating as the server issues have improved drastically, and I’m loving the new changes to the game. It has seemingly put characters on a more level playing field, so now I can utilize characters I hadn’t had the means to use before. The story is still great, the music is superb, and the graphics are console-beautiful. The devs are still crazy generous with in-game currency. If you’re looking for a great turn-based rpg experience for mobile, you found it. My ONLY complaint now is there’s no male healer!
———————
This would be my favorite game on the App Store. Beautiful graphics, engaging story, although sometimes dubious translation. Even the music is brilliant. The devs are very generous and give us lots of in game currency and more. But the server issues for me nearly render the game unplayable. I am forced off and have to reconnect routinely, and oftentimes if I’ve just completed a battle, it doesn’t register as finished, so I have to do it over again when I’m able to log back in. I would otherwise rate five stars. I want to keep playing as a long term player, but the server issues are terribly frustrating.

Pretty good so far
I haven’t been playing this game for very long, since I’ve only just gotten to the airship, but I can already tell that this is a fantastic game. The drop system is good, the character models are interesting, the story is funny, and the combat is easy to get the hang of. My one big gripe about it so far is that it just keeps freezing or the game won’t respond and I’ll have to close the game completely, wait for it to load up again, and hope and pray that it lets me progress. I had to to do the Viscount Hekin fight 8 times because of this! Other than that, the game seems wonderful to me

A+ art, F content
The character art and animations are absolutely amazing, but there is no endgame. [Updated as I quit the game]: I was F2P because the prices are horrific, but managed as high as top 50 in pvp.
The real bad: Horrible localization (in game and in dev updates). Also the “Quantum Raid” is an absolute failure to me and everyone I talk to. Memorial Saga was a flop, but the devs are putting all their eggs in that basket. I went into it once. Half my guild mates didn’t even do that. Real time pvp was added months ago and is still broken or barren as a desert. I couldn’t even get in 10 placement matches.
Honestly I don’t recommend. I struggle between giving 3 stars for the art alone, but giving it 2 because it just doesn’t deserve higher.

I don’t suggest this game.
When this game first came out it was ground breaking with fun mechanics, a unique combat system, and plenty of pull currency. That all changed when they updated the mechanics to the basic for gatcha games about a year ago. Fast forward to now and the game has had crashing issues for months which highly affects their PvP content. They recently released an event called “Chase the Red” where players complete achievements to earn a special Red Fatecore. Some of the missions aren’t easy like placing top 1% on certain areas of the game and finishing high up in PvP. I’ve been playing this game since the start so I can place high enough in PvP to get this achievement, however, the game has had crashing issues for months and with this latest patch it crashes EVERY SINGLE BATTLE. Which makes it impossible to climb since when you crash it auto counts as a loss. This will likely result in me missing the Red FC due to this game constantly crashing. I won’t change my review unless something changes.
TLDR: Game has major crashing issues that have only gotten worse with each update and now it’s going to block players from getting the new character.

F2P Mostly & I say give them a chance…
I’ve played a lot of games similar to this like Raid: Shadow Legends, Genshin, Epic Seven and more, and I must say that Exos Heroes has really captured me. I’ve been playing for over two years, almost entirely F2P and I love it. Yes they had a month where their updates were creating a lot of problems and a lot of us couldn’t log in or we got black screens, but the devs went out of their way to address it, did fix it, and gave us like insane amounts of gifts in game to compensate. They have tons of events and celebrations and new banners. I know rng is different for everyone, but I consistently get the Fatecore for every banner within 3 to 10 pulls. Only once I had to pull to pity. The game seems incredibly fair compared to Raid: Shadow Legends, which made me feel abused by the horrible rng percentages and challenge getting good heroes.
I’m able to compete well in the Arena as a mostly F2P player, the animations are gorgeous, the heroes are creatively designed, and while the translations are hilariously poor in some cases, and the story isn’t the best… there’s still something I find incredibly charming about it all. I spend 2+ hours religiously every day in the Exos world and I love it. I think the reason their ratings are so low compared to other games is that the devs are so nice and honest that they don’t pay for fake reviews like most of the other games. So if you like collector rpg games, I highly suggest you give them a chance.

It’s a Gacha game.
This game is great in my opinion. The graphics are great, the animations are great, and the character designs are great. The story is an actually interesting story. Overall the game has a lot of positives. The main reason that people are giving the game bad reviews is because it’s a gacha game and they aren’t getting the character they want, oh well. In gacha games you don’t always get what you want and you won’t always get what you want so giving the game a bad review cause of this is stupid. If you don’t like not getting what you want don’t play the game. You will have to deal with getting characters you don’t want but that doesn’t mean the game is bad. There are a lot of gacha games that don’t have a system to guarantee you get the character you want so this doesn’t do anything wrong. Most people who review this game badly are just greedy and throw a fit over not getting a character. This game is great everything about it is good. The fatecore system is one of the coolest things about this game. The gacha system doesn’t do anything wrong but it doesn’t do anything right it’s just a normal gacha system. I recommend this game to anyone who doesn’t care about what they get and to most anime fans.

Visually stunning but sadly went downhill quickly
I started playing the game around its release. I initially thought it was stunning visually, and it still is. Sadly though this is the only thing they seem to really care about, because they tweak skill animations decently often. I am all for that, but not when you seem to neglect most other aspects of the game. The biggest problem is the lack of any really meaningful content added. Even the “trials” which were end game esque challenges seemed to have been scrapped. They then proceed to put out story battles with broken mechanics, which almost no one can complete until they nerf it a bit later. This happens every time they add a new story chapter. Then there is the “events” all 2 of them. They recycle between the same 2 events constantly and the new one ends up as just a reskin. Another problem I have and it’s not specifically the game as much as The developing company. The support, etc. has been terrible and how they handle many things has instilled an aversion to any future games they release for me.

Disappointment
Been playing this game for about a year or two. I’ve enjoyed it, from its graphics to the various characters and combat animations. I’ve put countless hours for months straight; grinding for every event, day after day completing the daily missions all to save up Exos. However, when a cool banner comes out that I believe is worth using my hard earned exos on, I end up not getting the featured character or fatecore. For example, when Jinai’s pop star fatecore was featured, I pulled about five or six times, using up all my saved up exos just to be disappointed. The same happened for Schmidt’s featured fatecore and a couple of other banners. This makes playing and putting so much time into this game worthless. Also, the auto combat feature is so broken. Specifically in the arena mode. Whenever my team attacks, they never hit the enemy that they can break. However, the opposite is true for the enemy. Whenever, they attack, they always hit the right person on my team and breaks them every single time without fail. I really enjoy this game, but these issues are causing this game to be a disappointment.

Great Game-But could use...
I’ve played this game for sometime, probably since it was released or a while after. It seems like it’s been around probably longer than it has. The story is good, reminds me of the old school RPGs of the past. What I’ve noticed is that the gacha aspect has been getting better with their drop rates, which I felt like it was seriously lacking in. It could still use a tweak cause during the Tales of Vesperia event I gained both Yuri and Flynn but never seemed to get them again to transcend them which stinks when the event is over. I even poured my own money in to the gacha in hopes of at least getting them once or twice more. I’d like to see more collaborative events even if it’s with popular anime shows, or rpgs that first one was great. I also wish they gave us a longer time to get the characters or a better drop rate we needed to transcend them. But overall I enjoy the game and the story, and can’t wait to see what’s in store for the future.

F2P Friendly (so far)
Epic Seven is the gacha game I compare all others to and this game does a great job of emulating their F2P model of downplaying monetized content (though it does bombard you with purchasables and events when logging in). The UI is, for the most part, pretty clean and easy to understand, the story seems pretty interesting with equally interesting characters and it does good job of presenting a AAA JRPG-like appearance with its artwork and HUD. Honestly the only negative I have for this game is its resolution. Graphically the game looks great it just feels like I’m looking at it through foggy glasses. This alone is enough to drop a star since it inherently effects your entire experience. If you guys can update the game to bump up the resolution then this would be 5 stars easy.

Random Difficulty Spike
i’ll preface this by saying i do enjoy the game. the art is beautiful, the gameplay is cool, the gacha system is one of my favs (even if the rates are pretty low). the biggest complaint about that basically every player of this game has is the intense difficulty spike after around chapter 7/8. i got lucky with my pulls so i was able to go through most of it easily, but even then it is extremely hard. and then out of nowhere every unit starts one shotting you, you have to use specific gimmicks to beat the level. it gets to the point that most players recommend to just spend money and get the overpowered characters to beat the story. and not to mention this game has a tank class, but they don’t tank anything because they are all have extremely low hp and defense. the RNG in this game is also weird because all the enemy units will start focusing one of your units for no reason, dodges are extremely rare unless you have high dodge rate, block is also rare. there’s just a lot of general gameplay problems in the game that sort of took the fun out of it.

Gacha Game of the Century
I’ve played many gacha games before, but none of them even come close to how daring and unique this one is. The developers have been extremely gracious and usually listen to community feedback and are always implementing new changes and looking to improve. Also, the art and character design in this game is astounding, and they never to fail to amaze me when coming out with new characters. And speaking of art, the visuals and graphics are among some of the best I’ve seen in mobile gaming. Plus, the voice acting is to die for no matter what language you set the audio too, and if you’re like me, voice acting can make or break a game but Exos Heroes certainly went all out in that department and it certainly shows. The one criticism I have is that maintenance feels overly long and is often extended, but hey, every game has its flaws right? But hey, if that’s what it takes to maintain this game, then it’s certainly worth it. Keep up the good work, devs and the art team!!

Great game; RNG is decent on single draws
I was originally an Epic Seven player for months, and lost interest of it after I dared myself to play Exos Heroes for the first time. I underestimated it and thought it was trash because of the ads and the drawings. I decided to get a go at the game, and found out it was amazing... except for a couple things that I will talk about shortly.
I have been playing Exos Heroes for around two weeks now on multiple different accounts, and I can say the game is extremely good. You will definitely get multiple lucky draws on your way if you choose to reroll, and I almost always get at least one five star while rerolling. Please, though, remove Sabrina; she’s so inappropriate, and make Baileysh a bit rarer since he appears on EVERY. SINGLE. FREAKING. ACCOUNT. Other than that, this game is decently great. I rate this game four-stars for those problems, though.
Oh, and my luckiest accounts are mostly on the Japan and Korean servers, also known as the most dead servers in the game.
Get fatecores or you’re dead.
See you later!
Update: Okay, so I’ve been playing Exos for a couple months now. I have a big roster, and I love the game. Except:
My free pulls scam me.
Okay, bye now.
