Would be great if playback issues stopped happening

This app has gotten better, although I regularly run into playback issues when trying to watch a particular channel live. I feel like it works about 60% of the time. Much room for improvement still exists!

Poor

Poor, needs completely revamped in all areas

Doesn’t work

Never streams anything. Always an error. Deleted app and reinstalled multiple times. For the price we pay for cable this app should work.

Worst app there is

This app will make you want to break your phone. Pay all this money for Armstrong, and for them to promote this “great app that you can stream anywhere” and it won’t load a single show. 5g LTE and it tells you it cannot stream and to check your network.

Channel Guide Grid

April 2025 update has certainly made the channel logos on the main guide grid much easier to view now. They were definitely too small to make out with aging eyes, however.. removing the numerical association with the channel only creates a new problem on the same issue.
Ease of use to find the station you want quickly. I would like to see both the number & logo share the same first (or maybe second) rows on the grid. This looks like it’s easily accomplished in the “favorites” section to tick your choices of stations. Both appear there, why not on the main guide? The logos are too large now. Reduce them a little and there would be plenty of space for the numbers as well. Many of us use EXP in tandem with the traditional box units as well. We got those numbers committed to memory as well as which channels are HD. Is there an option in settings or preferences to display the numbers?

Restore the Channel Numbers!

I’m not going to continue to pay over $300 a month to have this app make my life even more difficult especially when it’s supposed to be time to relax and watch some entertainment. Whoever on the development team that thought it was a good idea to remove the Channel Numbers from the main grid guide must be trying to sabotage Armstrong. It simply makes no sense at all. Now we have to comb through the entire grid and take forever to find what was once quick go to channels. It would be unheard of to remove channel numbers from the set top boxes, so why would you decide to do this on the app?
At least give us the option in settings if we want the channel numbers to display or not. I’ll give it one month to incorporate this into the app/change it back or I’ll be canceling everything and taking other customers with me.
Remember the rule of complaints… for every 1 outspoken complaint - there are 50 or more people that feel the same way but have not verbalized it.. yet. Thank you.

Was a good app

In April 2025 you came out with a new update that removed all the channel numbers from this App? So what was your plane? For all of us to learn all the networks so we can find the program we want to watch??

Really.. 👎

New but deficient

For me, after Armstrong “fixed” the constant Reconnecting feature, I was happy to have a clear, reliable TV Guide-style listing offering a snapshot of what was on and when. The current change does NOT include the channel numbers nor the designation of SD or HD. Also, the constantly-on current programs waste usage and cannot be turned off. Typical — fix one thing and make three others worse!

App crashes when selecting a sports team

Cannot create a OnePass for any sports team. So either record every basketball game or nothing.

EXP STREAM

Maybe a 1

We have been with Armstrong for many years and could not have asked for a better cable service. But after being told that Exp Stream was the new way to go, we changed. Boy was that a bad move. We can schedule our favorite programs but not it is hit or miss if it records. We receive the error message “Program Temporarily Unavailable” We’re sorry, but this program is temporarily unavailable (channel 111) We are aware of the problem and are working to restore it. Armstrong has been WORKING on this problem for a year and a half(this was told to us by one of our many service call reps. PLEASE FIX IT!

No longer works

For the last few weeks, every time I open the app on my phone it makes me sign in. And it never seems to works on the first try 😡

Complete Garbage

Crashes instantly on every iOS device I own as soon as I go to the Live Guide. Reinstalled and still crashes years later. No app for Roku. Don’t waste your time with this unprofessional nonsense!

Horrible

Horrible App!
Nothing worthwhile has been fixed. It no longer opens. It simply flashes “Reconnecting” and does NOTHING. If I want to see the guide or stream a program, I must uninstall the app, go to the store, reinstall the app, and then go through logging in with email and password. Then, it’s operative for less than a day. Armstrong should have fixed this by now.

Petered out

Good app … for a while. Now it is constantly “Reconnecting” so that neither schedule or individual programs can be seen. What started out good is now just aggravating. This app gets worse by the day. I stand by my previous review. The only difference is that when it peters out, the message is “reload” instead of “reconnecting.” It’s useless.

App doesn’t work half the time now

App doesn’t work half the time now. It now goes to my wire and shows bill and my wire options. I take the time to log in 6 times and it still goes to web page instead of TiVo.

Crashes

Tried everything the app just crashes when click on guide

Good app. Wish it would do audio only when minimized

I use on iPad Pro and iPhone10.
On rare occasions I get the message, can not stream show, but 98% of time, the app works flawless. That is a win to me. I use my iPad as my tv when in the garage or basement.

I wish there was an audio only version of the app. That way I could listen to tv when going for walks, jogging or at the gym.
When working out at gym, I use the iPhone to log my exercise routine. There’s no way to stream video and log exercise routine at same time. EXP Stream sometimes gets confused when jogging because something brushing against the screen. The ability to stream audio is shown in other apps to include OAN.

Good app. Thank you.

Not the same as EXP app

For those of us who have not switched to exp stream we stiyneed the original exp app to manage our recordings etc

Cannot set up recording

Latest version of app, now called EXP Stream, no longer allows me to set up recordings using my cable box. This is the only reason I want to use this now useless app.

Don’t bother

All of Armstrong is garbage and this app is no exception. When it starts trying to connect to a box, it sits and spins and you cannot stop it without deleting the app. I can’t wait until a new technology makes this stupid monopoly obsolete.
