About

A standalone iOS app that runs entirely on-device. Data is stored in a local SQLite database within the app's Application Support directory. Seed-data driven: eight default categories are created on the first DB migration. Core Features: Record, edit, and delete dated expense entries Categorize expenses (default and user-created); manage user categories "This Month" summary with daily-grouped expense lists Statistics: category donut/pie chart, percentage breakdown, daily trend bar chart — filterable by month or "All Time" Display currency selection (presentation only) Export and import SQLite backups Target Users: Individuals wanting a fast, private, offline expense tracker. Requires only standard iOS interaction knowledge. Environment: iOS 17.0+, iPhone, portrait orientation. Local storage only — no login, no cloud sync. Technical Constraints: SwiftUI state management via @Observable / @Environment SQLite through GRDB, with schema versioning via migrations All amounts stored as integer cents (avoids floating-point errors) Display currency is a presentation concern — persisted in UserDefaults, not the database One-line takeaway: A private, offline-first iOS expense tracker with categories, monthly stats, and backup support, built on SwiftUI + GRDB with integer-cent amounts

What's New in ExpenseTrackerEx

1.0.4

October 6, 2026

Amounts now follow your device's locale — type 12,50 on a comma-decimal keyboard and it just works. Backup import is now validated end to end。 The app no longer crashes if the saved database can't be opened — it recovers and tells you. "Other" always stays last in the category list. Fixes for "Yesterday" headers around daylight-saving changes, clearer error messages, and VoiceOver improvements.
