Worst app , hope it closes

I always struggled with issues from this app which lead me to get bad scores on certain assignments. It does let me view images and just keeps locking the assignment

Good App to Evaluate Speaking

I have used extempore for 3 years in german courses where my administrators use it to test speaking skills. It is a handy way to have at home speaking exercises.

Glitchy as Heck

This is an absolutely terrible app. I tried using it two days in a row for my Spanish class. And BOTH TIMES, the SAME EXACT THING happened: I would record an attempt at answering a question, and then it wouldn’t work right when I pressed the “stop recording” button. Everything disappeared except the little thing at the top that shows how much time I have left to record. The little bar that shows how long your audio recording is and how much you’ve listened to, the play/pause button, the fast forward and rewind buttons, the “submit & next” button, and the “re-attempt” button all disappeared. So I would exit the question and click on that assignment again. And then an error message came up! It said, “Error. Sorry, this question is unavailable.” So I tried EVERYTHING. I restarted my iPad Pro, closed, then opened the app, and then even tried deleting and reinstalling the app. NOTHING WORKED! It still gave me the error message. I even tried opening the app on my iPhone SE 3 and…”Error. Sorry, this question is unavailable.” I also tried doing it in Chrome and Safari on my iPad. It finally worked when I did it on my HP Chromebook. I’M SO FURIOUS! 😡😤🤬😠😾 Please, PLEASE fix this issue soon.

We identified and fixed issues in the version you were using (4.2.7) related to recordings not completing correctly and questions becoming unavailable, and those fixes were included in later versions of the app. If you still run into anything similar on the latest version, please email support@extemporeapp.com with your course name and device details so we can look at your specific attempts and make it right.

I find this app to be easy to use and helps me gain confidence speaking Spanish

Terrible software

Several bugs plaguing the app and the website, Releasing an unpolished and buggy product is terrible, wouldn’t recommend.

Absolutely Fantastic app and support team

Great Platform for Language Educators

I’ve been using this app for the last year and I cannot be more happy with the platform and the support team at Extempore. They’ve made it easy for students to practice their speaking skills and make it easy for instructors to provide feedback. They continue to listen to their users and improve their product for the needs of their customers. Extempore is unlike any other tool out there and I have enjoyed using their platform and working with their team.

This app is straight trash it has nothing special it literally records like we don’t have voice memos on our phone the app doesn’t even look good this app is horrible

Later versions have focused on clearer design, more reliability during recording, and features that support teachers’ assessment needs beyond a basic recorder. Slow and broken

This app serves serves little purpose. It could be easily replaced by recordings or typed responses. It is also unusably slow, and the mobile app on iPhone X and above has elements of the app cut off at the top. On the website, even while using multiple wifi networks and devices, I was experiencing all of the problems listed above as well as missing question answer choices, and an error message that simply said Error - object object
