Using BTA 1 bluetooth adapter in 2025
The app does NOT work anymore with the bluetooth adapter BTA 1 on ipad (iOS 18.6.2).
I‘ve tried reinstalling, activating bluetooth on ipad several times, restarting both devices, etc. — nothing works, the H8 simply doesn’t show up in the app. Permissions for bluetooth are granted, and H8 updated to last firmware version (2.20).
Only works with iphone (iOS 18.6.2), but the app has very reduced functionality and naturally, the iPhone screen is much smaller.
Zoom’s app support was never great,
but this is completely unacceptable!

My Zoom F8n (system 2.40) cannot communicate anymore with my iPhone iOS 18.4…

Хорошее приложение, но нуждается в доработке:
1) на новых ios работает с F8n Pro, но не работает с F8
2) не отображает состояние фантомного питания для всех каналов на основной графической странице - не наглядно..
3) кнопка «выкл» очень маленькая для оперативного использования - приходится увеличивать средствами ios - лупой

Works as intended
On iPad Pro m4 running iOS 17. Worked like a charm. Be sure to install the Bluetooth add on firmware to your zoom recorder and you’ll be good to go.
Nope
Adding the Bluetooth add on file to the SD card did not result in a dialogue when powering up the F8n Pro asking if I wanted to install it, as stated in the Zoom tutorial. So, it’s not even a matter of it not working, it just plain doesn’t install in the manner they have laid out.
Won’t connect
Device won’t connect. This is ridiculous. There are reviews on here from four years ago with the same issue, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER ZOOM.

If you have a updated ios it won’t work because of laziness
Update needed. If anyone with iOS 13 or above has gotten it to work please let me know how. These complaints have been happening for years and it would be an easy fix but zoom is lazy and still won’t update for new iOS so when I use this at events I am stuck running back and forth and getting bad audio quality. Even their external Bluetooth solution for older models won’t work. So what to I need to do buy an old Apple device specifically so I can remotely control this expensive device??

Doesn't work neither for me

I've done the latest update 2.40, my iphone is in ios 16.2.
When I open the app I see the F8n device after enabling the bluetooth paring on it.
I click on the device name in the app paring bluetooth window, it desapears and never ask for the password that is displayed on the f8n.
The app show an empty Bluetooth window and that's it.
Any solution ?

Handy and useful supplemental control surface
A nice addition that allows you to use an iOS device to control and configure the F8 mixer series. Doesn’t have 100% of the main unit’s functions but transport control, levels, mixing, and some metadata editing are available. Some features are not available on iOS such as all card functions and full metadata editing, but it’s still a very useful app. Perhaps future versions will have more features and will fully mirror that main unit’s controls.

Not Good
I hadn’t used my zoom in a few months, updated the firmware in the recorder and updated the app. Now I just get error messages every time. I wrote the “Customer Support” email address and was told, they don’t deal with faulty hardware. I am often a one man band. Previously when the ap worked it was handy.

IOS 15.5 iPhone or iPad doesn’t work anymore
I try to connect, first I got the device on the list, and then after selected an other window appear without the device and that’s it, I cannot connect on my iPhone or ipad
Funktioniert plötzlich nach Änderung der Einstellungen am Gerät
Man muss beim Zoom F8n in den Einstellungen unter Bluetooth Device auf iOS 13 umstellen, danach funktioniert die Verbindung zur App plötzlich hervorragend.
Lediglich eine kleine Verbesserung habe ich anzumerken:
es wäre schön, wenn man als blinder Nutzer hören könnte, ob ein Kanal ein- oder ausgeschaltet ist. Dankeschön.

Does not work on iPad with iOS 15 loaded
App installs ok. When launched it can see an F8n in the list of Bluetooth devices.
When you click the F8 device displayed. The Bluetooth window disappears temporarily and then reappears with no devices shown. There is no way to remove the Bluetooth window. No screen to enter the pairing code. But the iPad says connected to device.
Because the pairing can’t complete as soon as you exit the screen on the F8n it disconnects from the iPad.
This software is not fit for purpose.

I bought an iPad specifically to use with this app and it just gets stuck on the connection screen. Massive waste of money
