Best book tracker!
Honestly, the best app for tracking books and having an engaging community! Even the staff are super friendly!! Couldn’t have asked for a better app tbh!
best reading app
The tracking is amazing I love it
Best reading companion
Great app for tracking your books, and the social community is great.

So much better than Goodreads!
I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember. I was an English Lit major in college and continue to read books and love having a place to track my reading and reviews plus add TBR lists and find new recommendations. For the longest time, it felt like Goodreads was the only option and it was lacking in many ways. Finally came across Fable!! It is so much better in a myriad of ways, not only the UI but in functionality and features as well. It feels like Fable cares about their users and reading and is truly trying to create a book lovers community where people can connect, in addition to all of the main aspects of reading tracking app, that they do really well. Highly recommended! Please keep improving and enhancing the app, Fable! You’re doing great work!!

AMAZING APP
I’ve been using Fable for over a year now, and I am beyond happy with it! I started with good reads but I hated that I couldn’t rate half stars, and after that I went through a LOT of apps. Once I ran into fable, I was sold! There are so many features (all of which are free) that I absolutely love. Not only can you rate half stars, but quarter stars too. Not only that, but you get yearly summary’s from your most read genres, authors, number of books per month, etc. They lay everything out for you!! You can also compare your charts to other people’s which is super fun and they tell you what kind of readers you are. Additionally, the home page is a place where you can scroll through the feed and see other people’s reviews, quotes, or even just random book related things! (It’s like an instagram feed) On the topic of reviews, leaving reviews on this app is so easy. You can go into so much detail and give warnings on what’s in the books, spice level, etc. and when writing a review there’s a “may contain spoilers button” so that when people come across your review, they have the option to keep it hidden if they want to be surprised with the book! You can of course skip any and all of these when reviewing. And I can’t forget about the reading streak tracker! All of these features are free, and I can’t get over how amazing this app is. You can also transfer all your good reads data to Fable, if you’re worried about losing your progress! 100% recommend!

Love The App
Been using Fable for over a year and I have loved it since the very beginning. I wish sometimes could add a book that doesn’t have some of the information that is wanted because a lot of their stuff gets banned from regular sites. So missing quite a few books that way. Otherwise it’s been great.
Great app
Great app for book clubs!
No Sync with Goodreads; no alphabetization
As a long time Goodreads user, I was excited to try Fable, especislly since it could import my GR data.
There are some nice things about both, and I ended up getting rid of Fable, because of a couple of things: top on my list was the fact that there’s no way for ongoing sync with Goodreads, all of my friends are over on Goodreads, and I have years and years invested into Goodreads, not just as a reader, but also as one of the editors.
Edit: I’m giving Fable another go, but I really wish that the reading lists (what Goodreads called shelves) were alphabetized, not sorted by last used.

CEO of Fable is Pro-AI
Last year Everand acquired Fable and in January 2026, the new CEO explained how pro generative A.I. he is and how he enforces all of his employees to use it and reiterated that they all use it. After his new role in Fable, many changes were made and it was obvious they’re vibe coding. Mass scale use of generative A.I. is extremely harmful, it hurts the planet and people, CSAM is being created with generative A.I.
If you love Fable, but don’t support their use of A.I., the least you can do is not give them your money and cancel your plus membership.
StoryGraph and Pagebound are better alternatives for tracking, Pagebound has more community. My only reason for not fully leaving Fable is there isn’t a good book club replacement.

Great, but with a major problem
Overall, I'm liking this app a lot. The interface is pretty. I like that I can track reading streaks, and that I can indicate I've read from a book today without having to update a page count every time. However, I imported my data from Goodreads. My tags were converted to lists, and in Fable, when I try adding a book to a list, the lists come up in apparently random order. This makes it very difficult to find a particular list. If you want to get and retain users from Goodreads, this HAS to be fixed. I want the lists in alphabetical order so it is predictable and consistent.

Sort by author and barcode scanning
I think two major features are missing, and that is the ability to sort your list by author, and to simply scan a books barcode in order to log it
the best reading tracker app
i have been using fable for almost over a year and can confirm that this is the perfect app for all readers! it is super user friendly, great for a young reader getting into reading or even an older person who is unfamiliar with how apps and social media work! if your anything like me and have tried multiple apps like goodreads and thought they were to complicated and hard to use, then this is perfect for you! not only is it a great way to review books, it also has a lot of other fun features! for example, you can create and join book clubs, message “friends”, have a reading streak where you can see the percent you are through the book, the app will tell you if you are on pace to reach your yearly goal and when you will hit it, and even have an end of the year reading wrapped!! 100% love and recommend this app!! love you fable!!

Best social media app I have!
I decided earlier this year to delete social media off my phone due to the keyboard warriors and the content not being healthy for my mental health. I came upon this app and have loved it since day one. Having a community that talks about books and only books has allowed me a space to feel uplifted again. I love the homepage and ability to see what others are saying about the books and enjoy the book clubs you can join to discuss your thoughts on books you’re reading. 5/5 for me!

Way better than Goodreads
As a lifelong reader who just switched from Goodreads to fable this year, I’m loving Fable and have never looked back
Stats Only
Fable is a great place for your personal stats on books. It’s not a good or reliable place for book ratings or even the existence of books. They have every edition of each book listed so the ratings are incredibly random since they’re spread out over multiple editions and not compiled on a single title. The search feature is also horribly flawed. You can search a book you’ve already read and rated on Fable and come up with nothing. It seems to depend on the day what search results produce. There are no author pages and books aren’t linked in series. I use Fable and I like it but only for personal stats. Goodreads is far superior in every other way.

Best waste of time ever
I don’t feel guilty scrolling on Fable while waiting for little one to fall asleep. Not a fan of social media in general but Fable is the best way to hear from like minded individuals. Let’s face it , people who love to read are the best people in general.
I LOVE tracking my reading and stats on Fable!
Last year I decided that I wanted to start tracking my reading on something more than a notes app and this was a match made in HEAVEN! The stats, star rating system (yes you can do 1/4 and 1/2 stars thank god), and visual layout of how many books you’re reading every month have been so fun to see!
The only thing I wish they’d change would be for the same “prompts” to be available across the book reviews, regardless of what you select for “how did this book make you feel”. Other than that, this app is so dialed in!

Best App for Readers
Fable has it all: visuals, stats, tracking, reviews, and online book clubs. The more it grows, the better the app and community will be. I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a one size fits all app. If you’re an avid reader that also uses other apps, it’s a great supplement and can be used as a master tracker. I’ve noticed over time that Fable has been incorporating other features and integrations that are the selling point of other book apps. Pretty soon it will dominate the market. Thank you Fable for making something that readers actually want!
