Fable review
I love fable. I just wish the app icons would be available to those who aren’t able to afford the fable plus option
Amazing! A Daily App
Fable’s community is so welcoming and it has set me up for remaining committed to reading daily (today marks day 600 in a row)… I love discovering books to read (and adding them to my endless TBR), discussing books in the clubs and connecting with like-minded readers!
Needs a scanner
* An update on my review.
Going to have to downgrade to a 2 star rating. Due to issues with this app. It’s such a shame as it has a lot of potential. Searching for books on the app is almost as bad as trying to find things on Amazon. Sometimes I have to try just searching the author rather than the book title as you are bombarded with a slew of other suggestions which is irritating at best. A scanner would be a lot better as I have wasted so much time logging all the unread books I own. I should finish up today but this has taken days to complete. *

I’ve been a long time user of Goodreads but I wanted a new app to keep track of what I own. I’m looking forward to getting used to Fable as an avid reader.

Just okay
I started using this because some coworkers do. I like the specific ways it allows you to review books, and that you can skip any of those options too. I like being able to give 1/4 stars (so 3.25 etc). I don't like that in order to edit the date you finished, you have to delete the whole start date/end date combo and readd it. It is not super easy to find books that are less popular even with the exact title and author. I also found the TV show tracking useless as it only goes by show not episode.

Great for readers
The app interface is clean and easy to use. The community aspect of it is so great. Everyone is so friendly
Not Impressed
Not user friendly; buggy - freezes up continuously, especially in book clubs, which is the only reason I have this app.
Book reader? if yes DOWNLOAD
This app is so easy to use, if there’s a problem or a request is made the apps designers actually make an effort to fix it. Overall I have not one negative things to say. It helps me track the books i’ve read the ones I want to read including what I rated them and my thoughts. It’s a lovely and positive experience using this app.

Love love love except for one thing
I love using Fable! Being able to track my daily reading habits and seeing the book’s cover placed onto the calendar. I also enjoy tracking the number of books I’m reading for the month and getting my personalized readers summary explaining what type of books I’ve been enjoying lately. Rating books with 1/4 stars is also a HUGE bonus for me bc sometimes I just feel like a book lies somewhere between 4 and 5 stars and a 4.25 stars is warranted. One thing I DISLIKE about Fable is I cannot see recent updates from my friends or won’t know how recent the updates I do see are. I’ll see my friend is 16% finished with a book but she update that yesterday or 3 days ago???

ADHD reader friendly
I genuinely love this app so much and have gotten all of my friends who read to download it. We all started lists of books we physically own so we can look at each other’s library’s and borrow books from each other, which is such a neat way to expand what books we have access to. I’ve read more books this year than the entirety of my thirties and fable played a huge role in that. It helps keep my ADHD brain on track by encouraging me with the streak and all the stats and helps me read more than one book at a time by showing me what im currently reading how much longer I have and that helps me finish the books I would previously never get around to finishing.

I really enjoy using this app a lot like a lot but I wish there was a way to save drafts of a review bc sometimes i’ll be in the middle of leaving a review and if I ex out of the app it’ll be gone forever

Dates read is annoying me
The inability to easily add dates read is really annoying me and making me not even want to use this app. It should not be this complicated

Desde la última actualización, los los datos no se actualizan cuando acabo un libro. También hay muchos libros que no aparecen y es fastidioso no poder añadirlos manualmente.

What is Fable?
I talk about fable so often that someone in my bookclub says “what’s fable” any time I bring it up. Just get it. It’s a great app. I haven’t tried reading from the book you can purchase in the app but I still use the app nearly every day.

i thought the UI on this app was cute u til i found out its using generative AI. immediate delete. if thats not enough reason for you it also doesn't even list enough books and doesn't have nearly as many features as storygraph. DO NOT RECOMMEND‼️👎
No error recovery/forgiveness
Although the aesthetic is very pretty, the feed is also great way to interact with people unknown, the practical usage of the design is seriously flawed.
In that, I’m talking about error recovery, reversibility, forgiveness, recoverability, undo whatever you like to call it.
The foremost issue for me currently is that when the app lagged and I accidentally moved a book I had not finished from my currently reading to finished reading, there was no way to remove it from finished reading. Sure you can remove it from the finished lists, but there is no way to remove it from the stats. Not even if you delete the book from all the lists.
Out of sheer spite then I sat all day to read the moved by mistake book to make the statistic accurate. Naturally I wanted to note that I read it all day, so I added it to the currently reading. And then moved it back to the finished list. Guess what that did? Now, according to fable stats, I’ve read the same book twice. In one day.
The stats for this year thus are ruined.
I know it’s not that big an issue but even otherwise in this app particular I’ve noticed I’ve to do a lot of mental backflips to undo something. This is the one occasion where I’ve actually been unsuccessful in the undoing so it’s actually become and issue for me.
