Visually Pleasing

Just installed it but right away the layout and UI of the app makes this app feel comfy and like I’m walking around in a library, looking for and discussing books with friends.

not a good user experience

the layout of this app is not intuitive for users at all and i’ve tried to hard to like it but nothing flows right 😭 every time i use it i have to read every button until i find what to click bc there’s no visual hierarchy and nothing stands out. for example i hate how you can’t immediately rate a book once u click finished, you have to go to a completely different page- there’s so many barriers like this, which i know isnt the end of the world but it does make a big difference when choosing between interfaces such as goodreads

New Update

Fable went from a 5 star app to a 3 star app with this new list design. it’s confusing and ugly and the old design was SO much better. why fix what isn’t broken?

Ugh

It’s 18+ like why do we need to chat and all that we don’t need social media at all really who cares about other peoples “perfect lives”.

Just perfect

I love this app so much it’s brilliant for tracking books. Everyone on the app is super nice as well and it’s really wholesome to have a respectful place where everyone is kind and friendly. When I first got this app I was a little confused about everything but after a quick search it became easy to use. Not only did this help me get out of my reading slumps but it opened up to so many new books to try! Thank you 📖🐈🥹

Book Lover’s Community

It’s not only a tracker, but it’s a book lover’s community. It could definitely be faster at updating and connecting Fable and Everand, but I love having a spot to share with other book lovers.

Life changing

This app has single handedly brought me back into reading with such a kind community and a welt thought out app to track reading, join book clubs, post about bookish things, write reviews and just talk books! I’m a little too obsessed with Fable and would recommend as a better alternative to Goodreads!

Fix

I love the concept of the new update. Though when I go to add a book to my list the app crashes and shuts down. Please fix. Edited to add more. When I go to do anything with my book list the app crashes. I love this app and hope it’ll be fixed soon.

It’s not an app it’s a family

LITERALLY everyone’s opinions are respected, there is 0 mean girl energy!! I LOVE IT HERE ♥️

Good but almost unsatisfying

The app itself is great being as though I’ve come from Goodreads. However, I feel there is something lacking. I wish there were more color options for the themes to make my profile more unique. Another thing that could be added is us to choose what charts we have vs what we get. For example, I would like to see how my reading had changed over time. It just feels like a lot is locked behind a paywall which sucks for free users.

Loving Fable, but..

Loving fable since switching from goodreads, but i do miss the ability to scan book covers in a search

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoy this app, I love the layout and how it tracks books. Personally I’d really love to see a timer section where I can start and stop and it tracks how long I read accurately

Love using it

I love using Fable as a tracker. I wish we also had the ability to add movies. We can add tv shows and books and I’d love to add movies since it feels a bit incomplete

Amazing app

I really like the rating scale and have found myself more inclined to continue my reading streak using this app!

Love it

I love fable! It’s the best book tracking app & app for book clubs!

Great, but notifications aren’t

This app is great for book clubs, tracking your personal reading, and discussing books! My only issue is that the notifications aren’t specific enough for a lot of needs, and many of my book club members don’t receive them, even though their settings are correct! It’s a major hurdle sometimes. But otherwise I love Fable!

I LOVE

This is the cutest little app ever! As an avid GR user, this app just has more fun to it. All the little interactive details are so cute and I’m having the best time. 🫰

App doesn’t work properly

It’s annoying it’s features doesn’t work properly Got some notification opened and checked it started with some book to read I’m not able to close or come back to home page closed the app and tried multiple times it’s opening the digital book which I am not Able to exit. Getting frustrated and I’m uninstalling now and it’s too slow please do the testing on the app from user perspective.
Some more bugs the number of books from an author read is not updating correctly

If these fix are done please reply to this I will give a try again as it’s a good app where we can track of TBR and see reviews

Response from developer

I'm really sorry you're experiencing all these bugs! Could you send me an email at support@fable.co? I'd really like to look into these issues and troubleshoot them for you.

Great to have another app for readers but…

It’s lovely to have a new app for readers, the app offers in depth analytics of what you’ve read through the year and you can get some insights into your own reading tastes. However, there are a couple of things that prevent me from fully switching over and using Fable more. My issues are related to the UX/UI. The app is very dark, there is no light mode and the black background with white text is very hard on the eyes. I have to strain to use it which makes me want to click off the app as quickly as possible. The second bit is around how difficult it is to update reading status of my current reading list. Too much focus on the “I read today streak” which I personally don’t care for as it’s one of those things that makes reading into a competitive sport and takes away from the enjoyment. I would prefer if there was option to disable it and instead to have a quick and easy flow to changing the status of the books I am reading. This app has a lot of potential but it’s not pleasant to use. It’s too busy, too much going on. Too distracting from what it’s supposed to promote: reading.

I like Fable … but

… it doesn’t keep lists in order … and the developers are unresponsive. You ask for simple things like alphabetical order and you get crickets. Repeatedly.
