I can't get it to work
I would give this app a higher rating if I could figure out how to use it. I bought this app to use as a plugin for LumaFusion. I have tried to use it like I use any of the builtin audio plugins. I get no audio and adjusting any of the controls does nothing. If I disable this plugin I hear my audio. This might be a newbie issue but if I can't get it to work I can't rate it 5 stars. I really would love to give it 5 stars because I need this type of plugin. Any advice, help. I am running app/plugin in LumaFusion 5.2 on my M2 iPad Pro running iPadOS26.

Simply marvelous
This app does a great job. Don’t go to far with it but find your sweet spot and it’s a go. Great work
I LOVE THIS APP
This is the best of all apps I run with Logic Pro
Read below, I know you’re busy

Does not self-load as GarageBand song editor starts.
As title. Generally Fred’s apps are really good. But, in Late August, 2022, Maxima unloaded, and then despite me swiping away GarageBand and then restarting it, there seemed to be a ‘memory’ in Maxima, that it wasn’t loading. Never had that before with an Audio Unit. In other words, having found which audio unit it was that unloaded, after GB’s dialogue box appeared (unload/disable?), I virtual-powered-off and back on Maxima, and in that session of GB in the song editor, it appeared to recommence working, BUT…
I copied the - now working - song as part of my workflow, then load it up in GB song editor, and although no notification appeared, FAC Maxima was not loaded. It’s unfortunately silently happening thereafter. Only happened since iOS/iPadOS 15.6 or the latest one with important security fixes, but I cannot say definitively this is the cause, it’s the only thing I personally changed about my ipad is all.
iPad Pro 12.9” M1 is the one I have, 1.4Gb free SSD. I cannot use Maxima until it’s fixed. Comprehensively looked into contacting the developer. I am not on Twitter.
The upshot is, I would have to remember to switch off Maxima and switch it back on every time I load a song in GB editor, with it in a track that’s in use. And, this cannot be done while the track is running, because that does not do the ‘fix’. I didn’t notice until after the Mastering process for me, where the drums seemed dead, and I traced it back to the effect not loading at startup. It’s just easier to use something else, or a different method to spruce up the drums, until Maxima is fixed.
Take care all.

It’s a beautiful thing.
Everything from transparent and polished to bold and aggressive.
This Dev is incredible.

Best app ever
Fantastic quality!
Great sound but interface needs work
The overall sound and presets are great. The presentation needs a little work. The metering could be more visible - its too tiny. Would be nIce if i could double-tap and just see the meters. Some knobs values only work in increments and you can’t enter any specific value you want to. I would highly recommend this app though, dont get me wrong.

Great design; but save state issues?
All of the positive reviews and word of mouth are true, this plugin does sound great, look great and offer a low cpu cost answer to metering + limiting - good luck running multiple FabFilter L2’s otherwise - however, my primary use is just that, multiple tracks needing a shiny and transparent gain control - for some reason as of my writing this, I lose my settings as they were set, seemingly randomly(?) but definitely after reloading a project (Cubasis 3) - not something I’m seeing with my other plugins so hoping it’s a bug that can be fixed on this end and not some weird unidentifiable quirk in iOS14 or Cubasis.

Thank you for your feedback, the state saving issue has been fixed by Apple in version 14.2. May I suggest you to update your system and update your rating. All the best, Fred
Quite unique.
I use a lot of compressors, limiters and the like cut Maxima has a unique crystal clear bell-like tone to it. Not neutral or flat at all, Maxima gives a range of colours and harmonics that I find most musical. A very useful gadget to scatter through an AUM session.
It does what it says AND it’s reliable!
What more to say?
5 Star App
Like all of Frederic’s apps! BUY THEM ALL!
Awesome
Incredible. A total must have for mixing in GarageBand iOS.
Love it
I se it with GarageBand for demos song ideas etc. as well as adding a little flavor to previous projects. Well worth the money.
Great!
Just like every FAC apps. Highly recommended for serious musicians. Makes your music sound better!
Music apps by Frederic Corvest!
All these apps by Frederic Corvest belong to the first class music apps. I have them all and their performance is absolutely fantastic. The very first app for me was FAC Chorus and it was immediately obvious that I got a music filter of highest quality. FAC Maxima impressed me even more. At that point I knew I will buy every music app this developer offers. The other thing that should be mentioned is all these apps are maintained and upgraded from time to time. This is important because I know that my money has not been waisted and that Frederic respect his customers.

My Go-To of all go-to's
I use this to bring out the best of any/all synths and effects. Everything sounds better when this is on the channel. I don't use it sparingly; seeing as it's got a light cpu footprint too. 👣 😎
My go to app
Use this on all my projects for a clear crisp signal boost with no unwanted distortion! You won’t be disappointed
Ok, but no instructions
More than likely it’s misunderstanding on my part. I was led to think that the program processed my iPhone iPod music. Frankly, not sure how it works and there are no instructions or helps in the program
It looks like a lot of thought went into it, but not too much thought in writing up a simple help instructions

these app are all well made and stable:
transparent when all u need is clean volume, wavery puddles if yr sends are too dry... envolver is unlike anything else. a really useful tool presented plainly. it's deep, i'm still thinking of new ways to use it.
i really doubt you would regret buying, if these apps seem useful or fun to you... =)
