About
Face Shield masks children's faces in group photos before you post them.
Everything happens on your iPhone. Photos never leave your device: no upload, no account, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. We cannot see your photos.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Pick photos, or a whole album from a school event.
2. Face Shield finds every face and masks it with a mosaic tile that is verified to hide the person. We re-scan our own output and only let you export when no face can still be detected.
3. Export the masked copies to your photo library. Location data (EXIF GPS) is stripped on the way out.
TWO MODES
- Hide my kid: protect your own child in a crowd shot before posting it online.
- Keep my kid: mask everyone else, so your child stays the only recognizable face.
Both modes mask every detected face by default, because a missed face is the one mistake you cannot undo.
WHY IT IS DIFFERENT
A mosaic that a face detector can still read is not a mask. Face Shield verifies its own output and keeps masking until detection returns nothing, so "blurred" actually means "unrecognizable".
EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED
- Unlimited photos and unlimited batches.
- Solid and mosaic styles with adjustable block size.
- Manual review of every photo before export.
- No watermarks, no account, no ads.
PRIVACY
No network permission, no account, no tracking. Face data exists only in memory while processing and is never stored or shared. Privacy policy: https://chmmchmm.github.io/faceshield/privacy/
Made for teachers, parents, school newsletters, sports teams, camp organizers and event photographers: anyone who needs FERPA and GDPR friendly photos without slowing down.
