Avoid

Not only do they charge you for this app they also kindly offer you the chance to buy the video is creates. It took over 12hrs to edit the video so I gave up and have asked for a refund. Waste of my time.

Hi, videos created with Facestar do not need to be purchased. You can buy the original movie on the apple store, but it is not mandatory. All videos created within the app have no additional cost. Happy Holidays

Hi, you must use frontal images, as in identity documents. Images with good lighting and definition, without dark shadows on the face. Do not use filters, lights and colors are managed by the app. Good day!

Salut, pour un meilleur résultat, vous devez utiliser une photo parfaitement recto (comme un document). Sans ombres trop nettes. Sans filtres. Une fois le clip sélectionné, cliquez sur le bouton circulaire sous le mot "Act the movie". Si vous avez besoin de plus d'informations, écrivez-nous sur info@facestarapp.com

Disappointed

The graphics are just not there to make it look even funny believable. Basically just post your face with no movement on a live movie scene. Disappointing but you should expect that. They also want you to buy the movies for some reason. Going to delete the app now.

Hi, we're sorry you didn't like the result. To make the clip better you have to use photos without too hard shadows, front like a document photo. It is not compulsory to buy any films. We only give the opportunity for those who want to buy the original film.

Wish there was a Movie search feature

It is hard to tell which movies are which on the bar below. I’d there a way to search through a list of movie titles?

Drop the watermark and end ad!!!!

Once you pay for this app the watermark should be removed from all your downloaded videos along with the “facestar” shot at the end of your downloaded video!

Hi, it's true, there are fewer female videos ... but, users make the app with your requests (the "suggest your favorite movie" inside the app) ... we will try to add more female titles .

Videos stuck in “editing”

Had a go of this before with the kids, I made 3 videos and every one of them are stuck in “editing” I can’t view them and my only option is to delete them. This has been over an hour since I made them so surely they can’t need more time?

Does what it says

The description of the app is accurate and it generally does what it says. It doesn’t however do the facial conversion particularly well and to download the videos you have to use iTunes? There are better options out there.

You don't have to use iTunes to download videos. You're getting confused with buying the original movie on iTunes. FaceStar has no additional costs and you can download your videos by clicking on the share button... you will see the save video button. You must use frontal images, as in identity documents. Images with good lighting and definition, without dark shadows on the face. Do not use filters, lights and colors are managed by the app. If you go to Instagram #facestar #faceoscar you will be able to see the clips posted by users from all over the world.

I have my annoyances with it

So, it’s a good price and good app. I would give it 5 star

EXCEPT it doesn’t blend faces at all well to the clips. Like no matter how bright I take the pictures there’s always a dark like around where it’s added my face on making it look really bad.

Also... the camera face shape is impossible to line up with my face as I don’t have ears that high up my head.

Suggestions: It needs a feature to blend the face onto the video so it’s not so obvious it’s masked on because it makes it look really cheap and not much different from a free program online (which I won’t mention as it’s also got the same problem)

So awful

Please save yourself a few bucks and don’t get this app... limited amount of scenes and a low resolution face swap.

Adding to my review after the developer response.

I should have been more specific. There are limited scenes involving women and people of color. It would be nice to see scenes that fit different skin tones. If you’re a male with fair skin then there are options for you, but there are little to no scenes for people with darker skin tones.

Terrible waste of time and money shouldn’t be allowed to continue. Video too small and everyone looks the same. It’s like they took one male face and used it for every video. Didn’t look like me at all.

Doesn’t work

I literally cannot get this to work. Clips just continually cycle on loading. I’ve never seen one yet. No I am not getting it confused. The clips just continually show downloading status. This still isn’t working! I’ve tried everything you have suggested. Looking at other reviews it’s the same for everyone else. I want a refund as you have taken my money and provided zero service in exchange

Hi, sorry but unfortunately for excessive traffic problems due also to the quarantine period, the network and the servers have moments of overload that do not depend on us. We have restored everything and now the editing is done correctly. Sorry if in some moments you will see slowdowns. Thanks for understanding.
