About

Splitting evenly is easy. It just isn’t always fair. One friend got out of the taxi three stops early. One roommate has the bigger room with its own bathroom. Someone skipped dessert while everyone else shared it. Dividing by the number of people is quick, but working out the fair version on a napkin is how arguments start. Fair Calculator does it for you. Pick the situation, add the people and a few details, and see who pays how much, with a short “Why this is fair” in plain words that anyone at the table can follow. No formulas and no math to check. TEN EVERYDAY SITUATIONS • Shared Ride: a taxi with different stops. Each stretch of the ride is shared by the people still in the car. • Meal: who ordered what. Everyone pays for their own dishes, shared plates are split evenly, and tax, service and tip follow the size of each order. • Food Delivery: food plus fees. Everyone pays for their own food, the delivery fee and tip are shared by everyone who ordered, and a promo comes off fairly. • Discount: a deal you unlocked together. The saving follows what each person spent, and if only one of you could have got the deal alone, that person keeps what they would have saved. • Shipping: one parcel, many owners. Shipping follows weight, import tax follows item value, and any handling fee is split evenly. • Rent: rooms of different sizes. Shared spaces are split per person, with a couple counting as two; bedrooms are priced by size, with a little extra for a private bathroom. • Stay: a vacation rental, hotel or cabin where people come and go. Each night is shared by whoever was there that night, in their own room, a shared room or on the sofa, and one-off fees like cleaning are split evenly. • Road Trip: fuel or charging, tolls and parking. People who rode only part of the way pay less, and a detour is paid by the person it was for. • Utilities: electricity, water, gas or internet. Fixed charges are split evenly; the rest follows how many days each person was home and how much they use. • Rewards: cashback, points, a sign-up bonus or a prize earned together. Each share matches what that person put in, and if only one person spent enough to earn it alone, they keep it. A CALCULATOR, NOT A SPREADSHEET • The answer updates as you type. There is no Calculate button and nothing to set up. • You see amounts and a plain explanation, never a formula. • Shares always add up exactly to the total. • Share the result as text with the group, in any chat. • From 2 to 12 people. Leave a name blank and it becomes Person 1, Person 2. • Currency and units follow your phone’s region: kilometers or miles, square meters or square feet. • In 39 languages, which you can switch in Settings. PRIVACY No account. What you type stays on your phone; it is not saved or sent anywhere. To help improve the app, it sends usage statistics, such as which calculators are used, through Google’s Firebase Analytics. Amounts, names and anything else you type are never part of them. The free version shows banner ads from Google. If you allow tracking, Google may use your device’s advertising identifier to personalize those ads; if you don’t, the ads are not personalized. PREMIUM An optional yearly subscription removes the ads. Nothing else changes: every calculator is free for everyone. Premium is an auto-renewing yearly subscription. It renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can cancel any time in your App Store account settings.
