Picking a restaurant, a movie, a meeting time, or a team name? A simple "most votes wins" often picks something most people didn't actually want. FairVote uses ranked-choice voting (also called instant-runoff or the alternative vote) so the winner is the option the group genuinely prefers. How it works 1. Create a poll with a question and a few options 2. Share it with a link, or let people nearby join instantly 3. Everyone drags the options into their order of preference 4. Close the poll to see the winner, plus a round-by-round breakdown of how votes transferred Why ranked choice? Instead of one vote each, you rank the options. If no option has a majority, the least popular one is eliminated and its votes flow to each voter's next choice. It repeats until something has real majority support, so the result reflects what the whole group can live with, not just the loudest plurality.
