Fajr O'Clock 2.0. Your iPhone or Apple Watch recognizes the sound of your ablutions live, and that's what dismisses the alarm. How can the app know I actually did my ablutions? It listens. The sound of water is recognized in real time, and you see it displayed on screen while you wash. Nothing to photograph, nothing to check off, nothing to prove afterwards. I turn off the alarm, take three steps, and go back to bed. That no longer works. Walking no longer dismisses the alarm: a backup alarm stays armed, and only disarms once your ablutions have begun. Version 1 dragged you out of bed. This one accompanies you all the way to wet elbows. I prefer to leave my phone in the bedroom. Then your Apple Watch does the listening, and that's enough. A renewal, complete ablutions, or a ghusl are recognized the same way. The duration changes, not the principle. I perform tayammum, or I can't use water right now. Then turn off the alarm by stating you have your ablutions via the wudu notification. The app only knows how to recognize water, and letting a backup alarm sound for someone who did what they were supposed to do would be our mistake. New logo, reflecting the intention to serve a purpose: waking you up on time for Fajr.
