Update on old review
First of all, I would like to say what I like about this game. The controls are fluid and endless mode is way more fun in this game since the difficulty keeps increasing whereas in FallDown! 2 the difficulty stopped increasing after the last color (purplish-blue).
Now while I do really like this game, there are some things that could make it even better.
1. If I could choose one thing to change about this game, it would be the color changes in Endless mode. The color changes should sync with the music. The changing of the colors is my favorite part about your games, and I love making it to a new color (or cycling back to a certain color) for the first time. However, this works a lot better when the colors change in sync with the music like in FallDown! 2 and FallDown! Flip. When it is out of sync, it is less satisfying when it changes colors and it doesn’t drive players forward with anticipation to get to the next color as much. If you changed this, the game would already be 2x better.
2. I feel like completing daily challenges to customize your ball is not the best system for customization. I was a much bigger fan of the old FallDown! 2 method where you got stars from Endless mode that could buy balls and backgrounds for different prices. I think you should add that back, or something similar, because then it would motivate players to play Endless to grind stars for customizations. Right now, players have a 30-second daily challenge, and the only motivation players have to play Endless is to beat their high score. I find that a bit lame. However, if you add this system, players would have way more motivation to play the game.
3. The ball, when moving, does not seem to move as smoothly as it should. The controls are awesome, don’t get me wrong, but the ball itself does not seem to move in as high of a frame-rate as the game itself, if that makes sense. I’m not sure how easy of a fix this would be, but it would make the game feel much more fluid and satisfying.
That is all I have to say. Again, I have played your games for a very long time, and I especially love the soundtracks and changing colors as you progress in your games. I really hope you consider these changes as they would make your game so much better.
Thank you for the time that you took for reading this and for making games that were a major part of my childhood, I really appreciate it!
New review: I really appreciate the fact that you listened to the things I didn’t like about this game. The ball moves much more smoothly and the colors seem to sync with the music now. This game has already improved a lot since the last update.
There are, however, some very minor things that make this game slightly less enjoyable. Don’t get me wrong, this game is amazing and is way better than it was before this update.
-The color changes are in sync with the music now in zen mode, but it seems like they get slightly out of sync as time goes on
-Still no color sync in arcade mode
-Bug in arcade mode with the Multiball powerup where the balls can get stuck while going through an opening
-Arcade mode seems to be a lot harder than zen mode. The line that kills the player seems to move faster in Arcade mode.
-This isn’t really a bug, but I feel the game would be slightly more fun if the ball just moved a tiny bit faster when on flat ground
I know it seems like I just keep adding more things I want changed, but if you consider these, I can see your game becoming even amazing-er :)
Thanks again from a long-time fan!
I want the first one
So happy
Falldown 2! 1.8 is better.
•You can change the graphics for one more futuristic.
•The music is not great, you can get annoyed.
I miss the old Falldown!
Huge fan.
Great App!
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback! No immediate plans for an iPad version, but perhaps at some point in the future.
