Locked Screen The lock screen is a safety and privacy feature that is activated after a user sends an Emergency Alert or SMS Emergency. Its purpose is to protect the user's account and sensitive information if the user is in an emergency situation and another person gains access to their phone. After an emergency is triggered, the app temporarily restricts access to the account and displays a passcode-style privacy screen. The screen does not provide access to the user's account or data through the displayed keypad. The user's trusted connection can remotely unlock the account through the Connections feature. Once unlocked, the user can return to normal app functionality. Emergency location sharing continues while the account is locked so that trusted connections can continue to assist the user during an emergency. This feature is intentionally designed as a privacy and personal-safety measure and does not prevent the user from using the normal iOS device lock screen or other system functionality.
