A glimpse into history
This app provides access to beautiful manuscripts I wouldn't ever get to see otherwise, and in a very user-friendly interface, and I love how you can zoom in so close. I just wish there were more apps like this one! Now if only I could actually read any of these languages... :)

If ever an app deserved its 5 stars, it's this one. While other similar apps charge much more for a few selected images of highlights in their collection, this app opens a generous portion of their collection to your own self-guided, hi-resolution tour. And what really sets this app apart is that you don't get to see just a couple of selected pages, you have access to the entire book, just as if you were actually in the library, looking at the artifact in person. Actually, you have better access to these treasures with this app than you would in person. Want to see and read an original Gutenberg Bible? Here it is, every chapter and verse of the original. This app offers a glimpse at the kind of visionary research tool the internet could-and should-be. Absolutely outstanding app.

Gorgeous materials!
As someone with a great interest in Medieval literature, this collection is a wonderful treat. You have access to beautifully-rendered scans of every single page of many extremely old, delicate works that you would otherwise never even have a chance to see. I'm very impressed, and I hope that more rare book collections like this one become available in the future. It's any scholar's dream!

Connection Problems
Beautiful app when you can see it. The first day, I was able to see some really beautiful manuscripts. However, for the past two days, I've been receiving constant "cannot connect to the server" messages when I try to view books.
A treasured app
This app is awesome. Every calligrapher and letting artist should have this. It's an awesome resource. So wonderful they were able to put this into an app. This is one of my most favorite apps. I will recommend it to my artist friends.
Great app but could use improvements
Should include specified pages download feature for online viewing and showing off.
Great app, full text & detailed info
It is great to see such old treasures in their full form...not just a page or two (like the British Library app). The descriptions that accompany each piece were helpful, too.

Love it!
I am a grad student in Medieval studies. This is so much better than the British Library app. It allows you to look at entire manuscripts. It has Nibelungenleid A, Heiliand, Bede's History and so much more. It is a bit slow and locks up sometimes but who cares! Look what you get a high quality look at without having to travel to Bavaria! I like it.
