Wow
You really ruined the app. That’s incredible
Functional app, insane tracker use and privacy issues (please read)
I've used this app for a looooong time now, almost daily. It's super useful for formatting social media posts or to add emphasis to texts to people using Android devices. I've even paid for this app to support the creator. This is a great app, 5 stars...
...until today when I got a cookie and advertising consent notice with hundreds of data broker options to decline —not that I manually had to decline hundreds, but hundreds of data brokers are represented.
I had to remove permissions on dozens of toggle switches, 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙏𝙃𝙀𝙉 I had to go into vendor preferences (correct term?) to turn off all of the the so-called "legitimate interest" options. That's the app's way of stating the 𝙑𝙀𝙉𝘿𝙊𝙍𝙎 have a "legitimate interest" in tracking so many things I do on my device.
𝙄'𝙢 𝙙𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙡𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨. 𝙈𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙖𝙥𝙥 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙙𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙙. I'm going to seriously reconsider my use of this app or having it on my device.
I understand the developer/s want to make money with this app. The developer/s SHOULD monetize this app somehow because I do find it genuinely helpful! As stated, I use this app a LOT! I *WANT* the developers to make money from this app. I also understand advertising "makes the world go 'round."
However, this was unsettling. It's insane how many trackers 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙥𝙥 𝙩𝙤 𝙛͟𝙤͟𝙧͟𝙢͟𝙖͟𝙩͟ 𝙩͟𝙚͟𝙭𝙩 would have, or even "need" to "legitimately" use —to simply stylize text with unicode. So yes, while "understandable," it's deeply disappointing and unsettling as someone who has PAID for the app.
Think about the use of the app:
You input text you want to emphasize or draw attention to, it's even more insane. This is a direct line to your messages, social media posts, your keyboard...
How long has this app I've used been tracking obscene amounts of my data without my knowledge or permission? I'd like to believe that this is just a new thing, and now that I've declined every available option I actually won't be tracked.
But I don't actually know that nor have any certainties.
Perhaps the developer/s made the tracking consent so blatant and obvious as a way of protesting the "necessity" adding so many trackers. But who knows? I tried emailing the developer/s awhile ago with a question and suggestion and didn't hear anything back, not even an auto-responder ("we received your email, etc.).

❤️
I’ve been using this app now for…. Forever pretty much & I just love it.
I enjoy not having to use a separate keyboard, just being able to generate cute text and such and then, just copy & pasting it.
It’s always worked & there is sooo many different symbols & text you can choose from. It’s also really nice that I don’t have to pay for a subscription.. the only time I’ve had to pay anything was a one-time charge just to remove the ads when switching between text and symbols and it was maybe like a dollar or something? Not exact on the $$ amount but it was a very small price to pay.
Best part—
it’s a one-time charge and never had to pay again.
Really love this app- definitely recommend! ❤️
